ESPN NBA 2K5...Are You Guys Using The Play Menus?

The reason I ask is because like a lot of you when playing I like to control the pace and tempo for my offense on occasion but mostly on the defensive side if anyone eles uses this tell me if you're finding it easier to play your games or how yo're liking or not liking it...I'm going thru some games on the ALL Star level and would like some feedback to compare a few things.

P.S. This inspiration came from watching the "Kings" vs "Clippers" game now going into overtime...score....101 to 101

the only way to play is by play calling most of the time. i love the spacing and the next movement features of this game.
i have season tickets to the kings and playcalling is the part of the game that makes it feel right.

Being a Suns fan, and using them in the game, I call very few plays. I just run and gun, and use the 2-man game with Nash and Amare. I'd like to understand some of the plays though, so I can call them in game against the teams that slow down the tempo like the Pistons or the Spurs.

Actually I was speaking more along the lines of the whole system where the display shows the screen "Tempo" along with some "Quick" plays which are common to all the teams and the "Pressure" settings.

I use the white button to bring it up on the screen while playing the game this way I don't have to stop it to make the adjustments its kinda like calling them on the fly.

When playing this way I don't do it for every possession just when I feel that the team needs to pick up the pace or just change strategys in general.

I usually don't get too caught up picking a play most work and are "Quick" picks anyway applicable to all teams, mostly I like the "Tempo" and "Pressure" settings and I do pick plays but mostly I adjust those two strategys on the court and it makes a big difference in the game when use correctly and its kinda fun too.

by varying those settings you can really affect the others teams momentum and even end the run. in last years playoffs for my franchise, what worked against one team did not work in the finals against pheonix. i really had to adjust those settings to even play against them. i still lost 4-2 but the first two games were extreme blowouts.

The best play is calling for a simple pick, and having the stupid CPU defender run into the pick setter and fall down every time. That's more or less what works for me. Unless we're talkin about Online play here.
