Yes it would be simple, it will be based off any other pc art modding tool that is out there. You open the tool find the file load it . Extract the art going into the Photoshop and do you edits. Save the art file load it back into game art file hit save on the tool then load into the DLC folder or the online folder.

The issue getting the files, since the pc files are built a total diffrent way then the 360 they WILL NOT WORK ON THE 360. As of now we can only use things that are in the DLC floder and the online file folder to use a base for any art edits you want to do.

So for example if some one wants to make suns black alts from the Barley era. They would use either the home or away off the DLC. then save file as new one then load threw the DLC folder. The make change to your roster threw REDitor to have the uni work with your roster.

The big issue is getting all the art files that we need off the game. This will take some research and talking to people with modded 360 to see how they get the game. That would the big hurdle after we get past get the tool then and set.

Also would need tons of extra space on your HDD. And will not work with Flash drives.

so for example we could name a barkely cyberface png9999 and load up Reditor or hexeditorand hex him in or do we have to replace a file.

I hope all goes well, being able to edit art in the 360 version would be simply put.....GROUND BREAKING, being able to add tattoos, beards, masks or whatever would be down right the ****! I look forward to more info on the subject, thanx for the response bro.

not sure what you trying to say. But it would be like this. Lets take Terry Cummiings for example and then extract the cyber face art from it. Photoshop barkley face on to its reload it into the files. Save it rename it what ever "9999". Then go into "REDitor" and change the CF Code to the "9999". That how it would work.

But we have the blue prints and the ground work for this. We just have to find the time to do it. IF this get done for this set of 2k12 i wont be till the summer. Many things have to get done and configured with main file in the DLC and or online floder.

Tats yes , beards some ,mask not like kobe's. You can just do ART, beards if like Harden or B .DAvis not going to happened and the mask are all 3D editing that is something totally different. Maybe once we get this done and its not too time consuming , we can move on to 3D/ structure editing.

When i mean art is like cyber face , courts , logo, unis , Arena art. Things like that.

It wont be as easy as you think....But lets leave the convo until we get the tool done.

Also main push for this about a month ago. I got a tweet from the NBA2k rep. Not going to say his name. He told me to enjoy the hex / REDitoring while we can, they seem to be moving towards the direction of Hard Codeing there save files ala ea sports. So this NBA 2k12 or 2k13 could be the last year we can hex / REditor edit our files...

Do you think he was telling the truth or just pulling your leg? I think that would be a big mistake especially the lack of art updates for players so far, wouldn't that make it harder to update if it was hard coded? Sometimes I just don't think that 2k understands our fanbase anymore and what we strive to do with it.

No i am pretty sure he wasnt and hard coding the save file would not effect any type of art updates. Just would not let us edit roster , myplayer save. It is mainly because of the crazy hacks last year with myplayer.

And could be because of us using players that are not longer part of the NBAPA but still on the disc.... Ala not having alot of recent rtetired players in the FA pool this yr like in last few yrs of games. Maybe not wanting to sued by those player. Thats just my idea on that.

With the theory of replacing cyberfaces with another cyberface....Would it be easier if say you have the PC verison and you copy say AI/Marbury(2 guys I wish were still in 2k12) from 2k11 over into 2k12 through the DLC? I imagine that if you wanted "Charles Barkey", you would have to make him from scratch or would this tool mimic the PC tools where you can create a cyberface from scratch?

I wouldn't be surprised if 2k made it harder to HEX but it would require redoing all of the codes and it would be more of a hassle for them in the process not to mention that they would probably lose some sales from people who get the game to hex/make retro rosters. I'm sure they don't want to go down that path as they probably took a hit in sales this year from the Lockout

The only good thing is if this art file tool goes through and works, there's a lot of duplicates of the DLC legends and ones that are hidden in the game. The ones hidden in the game have the black arm glitch but that is now fixable so that would open up even more spots to add players over the duplicates

And back to 2k making it harder to hex edit/Reditor....I do believe that they are looking into it because a few weeks ago I posted the black arm glitch roster that fixes the arms. Well about 5 days after I posted it on this site, the link got suspended because someone reported it the file. I don't remember the claim exactly but it was some company out in Cali that filed the claim. So that alone also makes me believe that that guy isn't lying

That sucks. Did he give any time table as to when they would being making it impossible to hex?

Then I hope 2k enjoyed my money while they got it, I'm done supporting gaming companies that put out lack luster games and strip away the ability for the community to edit their terrible products. First we have to glitch our way around just to trade classic players now we're not even going to be able to use the only thing that allows us to fix 2k's glaring oversights on things like Uniforms and Accessory colors? No thanks.

Edit: Hokup, is there a way to edit player loyalty in Hex?

You could extract the art from the pc file then insert it into a 360 file. Remember the pc file WILL NOT WORK ON THE 360. And the 360 files will not work on PC.

I think they rather not get sued by former players that want to get paid.

What!!! that is BS that is like taking away something unique from the game, the stuff I seen done with the 2k series (not hacks) I never seen with any other bball game, if this is true that might be the last time I buy 2k bball, IMO locking the files would be taking the substance that 2k gives away.
