I agree that 2k12 is the best canvas for retro roster makers. Like hope i can find old gems hidden on 2k13.....
I had live 96 on my Sega genesis when i was 13 . I never new that it was on the PlayStation as well and PC back then. I would greatly donate towards have this done for season mode. Especially if you do the same thing as your USA basketball /Olympic roster

Here is the intro of NBA Live 96 sega genesis and the PC enjoy... Hope this give you the itch.

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong... When I open my ROS-file in the HEX Editor I can't see the team ID's in column 06.

e.g. 76ers: their Team ID's should be in row "offset 0017E090", but in my file it just shows 0 in every row in column 06 from there on.

      Any ideas?

      What did I do:
      1. Save my Roster to USB
      2. Open Horizon and extract my Roster to the desktop
      3. Open the extracted Roster with HEX Editor (HxD)

I (try to) use the 2K Roster released yesterday (11/10/2012) and I changed the window size to 68.

yes that's your problem the new 2k rosters are off-set by about 7.5 bytes so it doesn't look the same at all but I have a way to make it easier to read I will post it later in my blog because I'm at work now and sleeping when I get home.

I don't know what the heck you guys were talking about when you said Kyle Singler, Adam Hanga, and the other overseas hidden rookies from last year's cfs were removed. None of their cfs were removed. I uploaded them all to 2k share. It must have been some sort of mix up because all those players cfs are still hidden. As far as i know, 2k didn't remove any cf this year.

Yea that gave me an itch, I kinda been looking at some stuff. I have been tinkering around with the 96 file to test some things out but really haven t worked on anything though.

I plan of putting a blog up soon of my retro plans around 2k12. Based on my research so far 2k13 is not a retro friendly as 2k12 was.

the file's are tricky this yr , seems the last 3 roster update some offsets change from spot s. Why i dont know. Best thing to do is use LEftos tool in the mean time , hex is harder this yr then ever , and changing offsets make things worse.

I the next few days i plan to start working with Vlad on the REditor Beta for 2k13. LEts hope that real life doesnt slow us down.

Yes everyone is on the disc, same as last year. Keith Benson is there and with Tatoos. He is a top D-League prospect who is expected to get a call up after playing with the Warriors last season. He has a CF ID and Portrait.

Singler is one who frustrates me, along with Joel Freeland and Victor Claver, all are on the disc with CF, but all three have Black Arms.

I am hoping that Hookup can research the fix for Black arms as we keep waiting on the 2K insider to add them, but it is like pulling teeth for that to happen.

Does Victor Claver have a cf or not because whenever i type in his cf id, his cf shows up as Joel Freeland?

I have posted team id's for the 2k roster updates in my blog. When I get a chance I will make a tutorial to edit accessories and collars and stuff. But if I don't get it done soon I probably never will between Assassin's Creed III and Black Ops II.... but I will try!

                                Hookup,

I am hoping you may be able to help with this:

I am researching the Assistant Coaches for teams. I have a list of replacement Assistant Coaches for each team. Ex. Jay Triano is Portland Asst. Coach in place of Bernie Bickerstaff (Lakers).

I want to replace Bickerstaff with Triano in Leftos tool, but he has it where we can only replace using the ID # instead of CF ID/Portrait Pic.

                                Example:

                                Michael Curry is ID 104

                                Stephen Silas is ID 105

                                etc...

Is there anyway you know how to figure out what ID the missing Assistant coaches are?

I figured out that some of the Assistants are found when putting them in under Head Coach but when I use those same ID for Assistant Coach I get nothing.

Would love to have your help on this as you have experience with finding hidden stuff.

Is there anyway to decipher the ID's instead of CF ID or Portrait ID?
