This is where global editing would come in handy. I remember last year going through the roster and lowering potential for every single player by 10-20.

One other question about your current roster - are the guards doing less pump faking in the paint?
Magic and Noles,Knights that are gold, these are a few of my favorite things...

maybe take a look at ronyell's potential scale based on DC's work?

It's a simple scale, but I like it as a base "range" to work off. Potential is such a subjective rating that I'd like to use current OVR and Age as objective measures to build into a scale which gives me a number rather than having to guess somewhere in a 10 pt range. If you look at my spreadsheets, they are all built this way in order to remove any biases that I might have.

I haven't gotten to SG's yet (will finish today or tomorrow), but PG's are more like themselves in the paint. Far fewer jump hooks from 5'9" guys, fewer aggressive backdowns, and more finishing drives into the paint. There is still some pump faking going on though and I'll work to bring the tendencies down on that.

Global editing would be so much better. Honestly considered getting the PC version just to be able to do more with modding, but I no longer have a desktop worthy of 3D gaming and didn't want to run this on my laptop.

i like where your heads at. i don't have much time this year to do a roster but i worked on it last year with ronyell. the hardest part was with rookies and having to be subjective based on how good we thought they were going to be. huge improvement as long as a scale is implemented and all POT are reduced

From your experience, at what Potential rating does an above-average player start to become too highly rated in the future?

                  Here's a link to the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...N2RHc&hl=en_US

Go to the Global Roster Changes to see the position specific tendency and hotspot changes which have been made for players and teams.

For this first release, only superstars and key players will have Player Specific tendencies which try to mirror their game. I'll document those in a separate sheet within that Google Doc once more game testing has been done. It's hard to mirror a player's real world dribbling and move tendencies without seeing them actually play some games under AI control and that takes time. I try to get at least 1-2 CPU/CPU games in each day to check out the impact in-game.

Still, right now all players should all play similar to their size and position which makes a huge huge impact on the gameplay. Fewer instances with big men out on the perimeter, less post up and post hooks from smaller guards, and more off-ball screening and off-ball movement in general.

I don't know you(as operationsports member of course) and I don't remember if you were here last year about Nba2k11,but my feeling tells me tu stay with your roster.I did a lot for ronyell's roster last year and for Neon1's roster with Nba2k10 and it's a long task to make the game plays how it should.
When the first version of your project(I mean with EVERY current team on point) will be ready???
I also suggest you to keep this thread into account:

I've been checking into that thread and a couple of others about Potential. That will be worked on starting next week, but I already have an idea of how to implement a scale for Potential. It shouldn't be too hard at all but it will take some time to edit each player.

I'll release the first version later tonight and hopefully you guys can give some good feedback that will help work on v2. There's still a LOT of work to do on individual player tendencies.

Using my own playbook edits, but I'm completely open to suggestions from people who have downloaded the rosters and have quality feedback. There's far too much PnR featured in those playbooks IMO and it brings big men away from the paint too often from my experience.
