Edit: I also changed a lot of potentials.
Will you be doing the 2014 roster to match bedwardsroy's scale? Also I am j/w, how long does it take to do a draft class as in-depth as yours? Where do you get most of your info for prospects... I can only imagine it is very time consuming, but you're doing a helluva job!

Yes, the same ratings/tendency scales will be used on the 2014 class. It should be even better than 2012 and 2013 since I know what I'm doing going in.

And time spent on the draft class really just depends on how often I feel like sitting down and doing a marathon of prospects. Per prospect I'd say I spend an average of 15-20 minutes or so. Longer for the top prospects, a little less time on the guys unlikely to be drafted.

As far as info, my main source for 2012 and 2013 was Chad Ford's database on ESPN Insider. But the 2014 class will be more difficult because most of the guys haven't been scouted by Ford yet because they're either current high school JRs and SRs or current college underclassmen. I'll probably rely heavily on Johnathan Givony and the guys at Draft Express, who do great work.

Thanks and I'm glad you're enjoying the classes.

Kadji would have been a SR in the 2013 class, and I chose to leave him out.

Are there and 2nd round/undrafted gems in these draft classes? There are usually one or two in real life, just wondering if you put any in there, or even if the game allows it. I know you said in one post that it ranks players based on overall and potential, so would it even allow any gems?

2K makes it difficult because of the way the AI drafts, but I wouldn't say it's impossible to find some gems in the second round. If a guy's overall is too low but he still has a high potential, they can slip to the second round. Conversely, a player's overall can be on par with the top prospects in the draft but they may drop into the late first or early second because of factors such as age and potential.

After consulting with Bedwardsroy and learning more about how tendencies work, I'd say it's entirely possible to sort of "trick" the AI into letting diamonds in the rough fall into the second round. A player can be rated 60 overall but be given tendencies that allow him to come into the league and make an impact right away. In one of the sims I did a guy from the 2013 class was taken late in the first round and his rating never really increased that much, but he was consistently making 2nd and 3rd team All-NBA 4 to 5 years into his career despite only being rated in the low 70s. I'm sure there were other factors such as the team that drafted him and the guys playing around him, but for the most part I'd attribute his success to tendencies.

                Re: chiliad's 2012 Accurate Draft Class (PS3)

Just thought I would update everyone on the progress I'm making on the 2014 class. So far I have 10/80 prospects completed. I'm hoping to knock out 5 a day, which would make the ETA two weeks from now. However, I'm sure real life things will get in the way and prevent me from doing 5 a day, so just to be on the safe side I'll put the timeline for the 2014 class at 3 weeks from now.

I've already gone way more in detail with the 2014 class, as I actually know how to edit the tendencies and hotspots correctly going in (big thanks to Bedwardsroy19). I'm confident that the 2014 class will be even better than 2012 and 2013.

** Keala King was recently dismissed from Arizona State. I haven't yet decided if I want to remove him from the class, leave him in with his school remaining Arizona State, or leave him in at a different school.

I was just wondering if you had heard of/think about putting Lonnie Jackson from Boston College in the 2014 class. He'd be a junior by then and I think he'll be a major player by then. Ever since he worked his way into the starting lineup earlier this year he's averaging over 10 points a game including a 26 point outburst. This kid can shoot the lights out and he's also a good rebounder for his position. I'm not saying this kid is gonna be a big name in the NBA, I just think he has a great chance of getting there either as a 2nd round pick or an undrafted free agent.

In any case, whether you put him in or not, love your draft classes, looking forward to the next one, and keep up the good work my man

Can you post offline links for your 2012, 2013, and 2014 draft classes please. Thank you. Having a problem at the start of my association mode getting draft classes from 2k share. Offline link will allow me to load it on my PS3 and not worry about 2k share. Great classes. Thanks

I'll definitely check out whatever scouting reports I can of him. He might be the guy I put in to replace Keala King.

I made some slight edits to certain guys to achieve more accurate draft results, and I was really pleased with what I saw. Drummond is consistently going top 4 now. Henson is still falling out of the lottery, but that doesn't concern me that much because I don't think he's much of an NBA prospect to begin with. Below are the full results of one of the better drafts I saw if you're interested.

Haha, the class has since been edited a third time (by Bedwardsroy19), and I think the draft results might be a little more realistic this time. Not 100% on that though because I myself haven't tested version 3, but I know he did some testing and he knows what he's doing. With 2K's AI draft logic it's difficult to get a truly realistic draft.
