Me and vtcrb have been spending the last few days editing the playbooks finished just a few minutes ago. We will probably be adjusting the coaching sliders to see how the gameplay works with the new playbooks.

I have also added Russell Westbrook's new contract extension into his contract/salary for those of you who are Thunder fans and going to use them in your association.

I do have one question to ask the community. If I come across any players that have been drafted and played in the NBA over the past 5 years, but are overseas for whatever reason would you like them to be a part of the roster set and put into free agency? For example players such as James Gist (played with the Spurs in 2010), Keith Langford (played in the NBA in 2005).

Thanks for the feedback and if you guys wanna test these out for me and vtcrb you can send us a pm and we'll let you know where to find them on 2kshare.
I vote put them in the roster set. I love having all the players I can get because you never know who might make it in the NBA these days. Thanks!

If it's possible and not too much work (y'all have gone way above and beyond already) then I agree. Even if it's players like a Sergio Lull, who was drafted by the Rockets a couple of seasons ago and just hasn't made it over from Europe yet. But, I think you may have already gotten to those types of players already.

Actually I haven't, I just noticed on 2k share last night someone was creating players playing in Europe which got me thinking about the last 2-3 years at best of draft picks still over in Europe. If anyone knows of one that could make a team lets be realistic and give me the name of the player and I'll see if there is one created already that we can use. The generic CAPS are for dleague players and believe me there are A LOT of them. The player movement down there is CRAZY.

Here is a rough outline of what the association workbook is going to look like...please keep in mind that many of the spreadsheets are used right now as reference point for me to look up things. The Salaries/Contracts and D-League transaction spreadsheets are up to date and those will be the final version.

Ok everyone, I am testing a slider set for HOF & Shot Stick Timing. Found a set in the sliders forum and decided to see how the game would feel with them. I'm testing my Lakers against the Hawks and you'll have to forgive me I have not played a game in nearly 2 weeks since working on this roster set. Here are the stats after one quarter....

Atlanta Hawks 31, Los Angeles Lakers 23

            Field Goals: ATL 12-24 (50.0%) / LAL 8-23 (34%)

            Free Throws: ATL 6-13 (46%) / LAL 6-6 (100%)

            3PT Field Goals: ATL 1-2 (50%0 / LAL 1-3 (33%)

            OR/DR/TOT REB: ATL 2-13-15 / LAL 1-12-13

            ASTS: ATL 8 / LAL 6

            STLS: ATL 3 / LAL 0

            BLKS: ATL 2 / LAL 2

            TOVS: ATL 1 / LAL 4

Points In Paint: ATL 10 / LAL 14

            Bench Points: ATL 10 / LAL 2

Fast Break Points: ATL 13 / LAL 4

            Personal Fouls: ATL 3 / LAL 9

Here are some player stats from the opening quarter
            Atlanta Hawks:
            Joe Johnson 13 points, 6-12 Fgm-a, 1-2 3fgm-a, 2 rebs, 1 ast
Jeff Teague 6 points, 4 assists
Al Horford 4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 block shots
Josh Smith 2 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists

            Los Angeles Lakers:
            Kobe Bryant 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 2-7 Fgm-a, 4-4 Ftm-a, 2 fouls
            Pau Gasol 8 points, 2 rebounds, 3-4 Fgm-a, 2-2 Ftm-a
Matt Barnes 5 points, 2 rebounds
Andrew Bynum 0 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block shot

Noteworthy...Second offensive possession for the Lakers Matt Barnes on the wing dumped the ball down into Gasol on the block. Barnes man turned to double down and Barnes cut hard to the basket and received a beautiful little bounce pass from Gasol that resulted in a layup.

**I'm still feeling bothered by the amount of deflections that are happening in the game. Deflections are a part of the game, but at the NBA level this amount is staggering. As happy as I was that 2K added bounce passes and such to the gameplay, us the user not being able to determine when those passes will be throw are the left to chance many of the passes to teammates that are backcutting, curling, all away from traffic.

Slider set is pretty simple, many of the sliders are left on 50/50...but the following are changed.

            Inside Shot Success: 45/45
            Close Shot Success: 45/45
            Dunk in Traffic Success: 48/48
            Contact Shot Success: 45/45

            Driving Contact Frequency: 84/84
            Inside Contact Frequency: 90/90
            Steal Success: 25/25

            Vertical: 42/42
            Dunking Ability: 45/45
            Stealing: 42/42
            Blocking: 42/42
            Clutch Factor: 20/20

            Look for Post Players: 80/80
Go For On Ball Steals: 5/5

            All Fouls are 50/50

That's a nice detailed-looking spreadsheet. However, why are some of the field listings cut-off from viewing? Some of the text from the spreadsheet is cut-off from inside the field. For example, Denver Nuggets reads only Denver Nug. It's like this from several fields.

It's like whoever created certain fields didn't expand them big enough. Thanks for the work into this guys! I love the CAPS & D-League player additions. Edit: Must have been a problem viewing it online. I downloaded the spreadsheet & all reads just fine from Excel. I'm pumped now to get this roster file. Looks great!

When you view it in google docs spreadsheets the columns are default. you have to open up the columns and you'll see the full text. I'm glad you all like it, its not the finished project yet, but you can see how putting this stuff on spreadsheets allows us to get things done quickly.

So excited about this roster! Been waiting for this! Anyways i have some concerns about your last rosters( which i am currently using) about the players always settling for a spin/pumpfake inside when driving inside. For example when westbrook, rose, rondo etc. drive i would rather see them finish a layup/dunk rather see them drive then spin then pumpfakes then settle for whatever shot. And also the blocks inside also bothers me. It is very rarento see a nice layup or dunk, i feel like all the pretty animations that 2k pit into this game is not given any justice coz it is just getting blocked almost everytime. Im not saying there shouldnt be blocks, but it is taking away the fun in the game. Anyways, love what u guys are doing! Release date??

I don't want to give an exact date due to the fact that if we are unable to meet that deadline then we will have just gotten everyone excited only to disappoint them and I think I speak for vtcrb as well as myself when I say that we have put in many hours on a daily basis (i've given spent the last 3 weekends 24/7 on this myself) to get these out. The thing that we have to decide upon is a cut off date so we can take a day or two to fine tune everything for the release. The difference between this roster and all the other custom made rosters out there this season is that we are making it possible to let you the user who downloads the roster to use it as you see fit. We all are not following a certain guideline when we run our associations. Some of us will trade Dwight Howard and some of us will let him play the year out and see if he opts out or not. But the one thing we wanted to make sure was possible was that once you start your association mode that you don't have to download updated rosters and restart your associations all over again because there are daily updates that it would be pointless to play association, which is why we created over 150 CAPS to use during our association years with players who are in the d-league, overseas, or undrafted rookies so that you as the user can add them to a generic CAP and continue your association and you have updated the rosters to simulate realism.

When it comes to rating the CAPS anytime a new player that has never been in the NBA becomes part of a team we will post the ratings for him for you to input into the CAP. This by no means is a requirement, you are free to rate them what you feel they should be rated. If anything you can use our ratings as a base to find our own or a reference guide. The spreadsheet that I'm working on, that you all can view by clicking the link up a few posts will be the Association Guide. In it you will see the attention to detail and information we gathered during this process. I will also be updating certain spreadsheets on a daily basis and some will be updating themselves automatically.

We plan to upload and release ONLY ONE roster set and you guys are given the power as to who you choose to add to it or delete from it. I'm currently in the process of putting together a shot stick slider set with the roster for myself because I use shot stick, but if anyone else in the community uses the shot stick as well as has any opinions or information they want to share with me to contribute to a great shot stick slider set for our roster I'm open to all comments.

Grizzlies do not extend contract extension to Marreese Speights

Rockets and Courtney Lee do not reach contract extension

Blazers and Batum do not reach contract extension, Batum restricted free agent at end of season

Hornets offer Eric Gordon contract extension. Gordon turns it down.

Nets forward Damion James will be out the rest of the season due to injury

I wasn't involved with the previous versions of this roster so I can't comment on anything before me although I will tell you I downloaded the set that was brought out in November and during the lockout in only 1 month I had gone through 1 year of an association with these rosters and I had great gameplay from all-star level to hall-of-fame. I didn't experience the issues that you did, I was very pleased with the the gameplay, but after seeing what it is now, last month seems like a LONG time ago cause the roster is that much better.
