Re: ZACHB Draft Class
I was wondering about a few players. For use with Bedwardsroy roster, which is currently the best on ps3, it seems that a few players potential is still too high. Especially considering that a players potential rises, or progresses, yearly as well. Even the player with the highest upside should still be capped around 85, because in 2 years that will easily become a 90.
Secondly, outside shooting seems a bit low. A top tier player like Perry Jones may not shoot it much (tendencies) but has range that extends to the three point line. I am not saying he is a top shooter, or even middle of the road, but when you factor in the fact that he is projected as an NBA SF, that outside shooting is a big factor that is underrated. He doesn't shoot it in college because he is playing Center, but has proven that he is not a liability shooting it outside. GREAT job on his speed/quickness though. Most people miss that. A guy like Renardo Sidney shoots 44% from "3." While once again his tendency is low, his shooting is one of the reasons he may be drafted.
I really liked some of the things in your roster, but could you give it a second look over?Comment

Re: ZACHB Draft Class
Dwil, my rosters were made for the 2K default rosters, so I guess my potentials are probably too high for bedwards, but I made my class so it coincided more with what 2K did for their rookies this year. As for Perry Jones, I think my shooting ratings for him are justified because he's only shooting 25 percent from three and averaging 1 3 pointer per 3 games. But he might develop more of an outside stroke later, hence his high potential rating. As for renardo sidney, you may have a case here and I'll give that a 2nd look. I don't know why I gave him a relatively low 3Pt rating.Last edited by ZACHB2012; 02-18-2012, 04:51 PM.Comment

Re: ZACHB Draft Class
Ok, cool, I follow you 100% then. I saw that Bedwards had commented on a thread of yours so I wasn't sure.
As for Perry Jones, a lot of his outside shooting has to do with high school. Usually I wouldn't care about a players high school stats since this is his second year of college, but it does have some merit in this situation.
He is projected as a "3," a perimeter player in the NBA. In college, he almost solely plays the "5" due to his size. This is part of the reason he struggled at times scoring last year, he never developed post skills. He has always been a face-up
I rate him in the high 60s for mid-range (67), low 60s for 3's (62)so his ratings transfer better to him playing his expected position in the NBA. It makes him still a lower tier shooter as a wing, but he has proven that he can knock down outside shots consistently when he wasn't relegated to the post as he is now.
I understand completely if you leave him this low because it accurately reflects his statistics. You did a lot of great work and in comparison this is a trivial issue. He is one player I always have to re-edit anyway because his role in college differs so much from what he will be asked to do at the next level.Comment

Re: ZACHB Draft Class
I'm holding off on my beds 2012 class until after my 2013 class is finished. I have a thread up for my 2013 class and I've done around 20/80 thus far so it'll probably be another 3 weeks or so.Comment

Re: ZACHB Draft Class
Hey man could you add if you could please remember the Mizzou players (English, Pressy). I understand that neither has the highest pro prospects but i think both could be role players on a good team. BTW I really like your 13 so far, im excited to get my hands on Canaan. I disagree with a couple of the rankings like Canaans potential rating, 58, seems a little low for a quick guard with jimmer range. Its impossible to make everybody happy though so as a whole GREAT JOB!!!Comment
