The Arizona Republic reports the Phoenix Suns have hired Sean Rooks to be a player development coach.
According to the Palm Beach Post, the Miami Heat have exercised their 2013-14 team option for guard Norris Cole.
The Heat could have waited until Oct. 31 to announce the move, but they decided to do it now. Cole will make $1.2 million in 2013-14.
The Dallas Mavericks just started their training camp and they've already made some moves to reduce the roster as Tu Holloway and D.J. Mbenga were waived on Tuesday.
"I would have loved to be here," Mbenga told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "But they have 15 guaranteed contracts. My agent is looking at some other opportunities. I'll stay in shape and there will be some chances in the NBA."
The Mavs now have 16 players under contract and only Josh Akognon has a non-guaranteed contract.

Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doug Collins is now under contract through the 2013-14 season after the team signed him to a one-year extension.
"We have Doug for at least 2 years contractually but hopefully a lot longer than that," managing owner Josh Harris told the Philadelphia Daily News.
The Chicago Bulls increased their training camp roster on Monday when they signed Kyrylo Fesenko, Marko Jaric, Vance Cooksey and Andre Emmett.
The Bulls' payroll is close to the hard cap for this season, which is why none of these deals are guaranteed. Of the four, Fesenko may be the one player to make the opening night roster.
head coach Tom Thibodeau have finalized a four-year extension. Thibodeau is now under contract through the 2016-17 season.around $18 million and includes a couple million in potential bonus money.
