Players are going to play different with new teams, you have to take account for players getting better or worse... Outside of something outrageous I don't see why you need to change ratings and such at this moment... Especially when last year was a tough year, many players weren't fit or couldn't handle that tough schedule... I say wait a bit... If it's anything similar to the last lock out you will see a ton of players improve dramatically like Melo...

          But maybe it's just me...
I dont agree, but that is just me too ...

Default ratings and tendencies dont account for past players performances, not last season nor previous ones ... at least not the ones that can be compared to meassurable stats.

In fact, 2k has biasedly altered the ratings of so many players over the recent few years (to try and please casuals) that they dont even hold to their own formulas and scales ... so why not make it more sim, more real ? ... doing so sets a base more proper to, once the season gets going, account for the changes in style and of profficiency (be it of players or teams).

We can wait ... but how long must we wait in order to have a better sample size than last year ? ... 67 games would be the answer, but I bet that is too long of a wait ... to wait for teams to stablish an identity is a no-no (IMHO), to wait for added players (at least most of them) and for improved accesories accuracy (home/away corrections) is what should be the aim since, as long as there is 2kshare, an updated roster can be uploaded any time.

          Then again, is bedwardroys call.

          P.S:
Melo didnt played bad due to him not being in shape but rather due to:
The management not finding a way to make Melos playstyle fit within Stat & Lee playstyle ... is not coincidence that Melo played his best when both were injured or out of the lineup ... also, as opposed to other relevant SF/PFs, he has never been a playmaker nor a efficient scorer, thus the management kept using him as if he were ... this season will prove to be crucial on the team future and its odds of keeping this stars core or not ... something tells me that they will aggressively explore to trade one next offseason.

Obviously it's up to Beds, but my suggestion would be to wait until we have something resembling a complete official roster to use for editing, i.e. second round picks included.
Thats kind of all we are waiting on now. Is a better base. I have my edits done just waiting to enter

Well, thanks to this thread: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ers-added.html , we can safely deduct what caps are we going to need.

There are more than half of the missing players hidden within the disc, thus all sharing the same generic ratings ... I would recommend that cap makers concentrate on the missing players that are not in the disc as I doubt that the 2kinsider will add those within the near future ... maybe more than a couple of weeks later after opening day and only if they make the team, but that is a huge strech ...

Going by tradition, I even doubt that we get all 25+ players that are already on the disc before opening day, as they would still need to be assigned proper ratings, which in the insiders view, we know are unaccurated ones but not generic ... but creating those 1st, isnt wise as it consumes time and the odds of being added are higher than otherwise.

Anyways, just wanted to share my thoughts about it.

I am really not sure when you guys think the best time base to start this project would be.

What do you guys find more important, sock color or cyberfaces?

I think there is a decent chance that there will not be major changes in either aspect in the next update but I am getting antsy to start actually editing!

Beds, I'm a big fan of your work and feel your itch to get workin'.

But I feel like waiting for the cyberfaced second rounders would be your best bet, because I don't like having to look at CAP faces during gameplay if I don't have too.

Also I think it's good to have players with correct tattoos and skin tones.

I agree about waiting for the 2nd rounders to be in the game... And HOPEFULLY the sock issue will be fixed by that time!!

Finally finished the suggested potential adjustments for every player.

I just PM'ed this to Bedwards...if you all are interested in checking it out, too, I'm leaving a link here:

                            http://bit.ly/RdiRV0

I probably left out a tiny handful of players...and any veteran under 75 overall (pointless to include because their overalls won't upgrade).

With this excel spreadsheet, you see what every player's POT rating is, the suggested POT rating I give, and what PEAK OVERALL rating they will average. (I say average because they fluctuate between 1-2 pts).

Hopefully Bedwards gets some use out of this for the upcoming roster...and for those that want to make some potential tweaks as well. With these suggested ratings, you can be be DAMN sure that the league won't be flooded with talent!

GREAT ! I downloaded the file, cam you explain me what does it means:

                              OVL 1st

                                Sure.

POT = Potential Rating 2K has the player at.
ADJ = Suggested Potential Rating from me
OVL 1st = A Player's Overall Rating at the beginning of an association
PEAK OVL = A Player's highest Overall Rating during an association
