Re: Step By Step Guide for PS3 users to use Leftos Roster Editor

After getting tons of help from Marvin and Wil2DaSon, I was all ready to replace the 1998 Bulls generic coaches with (black hand) head coach Phil Jackson (5076) and assistant coach Bill Cartwright (5142). I thought I knew what to do but got confused with exactly what to change. In my thread searches, some people said to change info under the Teams tab; others said change info under the Staff tab; no one said both. How exactly, step-by-step, do you replace the generic historic head coach and assistant coach?

It is both...under staff tab you need to make sure you give Jackson the 98 Bulls team GID. Under the team tab you need to assign their head coach the same coach ID as Jackson as well.. So it is in 2 spots.

I'm so sorry but I still don't follow.

I went to the Teams tab, and the ID for the '98 Bulls is 69. I don't see a "GID"; I do see a "GID" in the Jerseys tab. Like I said, I want to get Jackson (5076) as the head coach and Cartwright (5142) as the asst coach. So idk how to give Jackson the 98 Bulls team GID or anything. Could you explain? My apologies...

I am not familiar with Leftos editor only REDitor. But the GID (graphics ID) is the number that aligns the jerseys, team graphics, crowd colors, mascot etc. the '98 Bulls GID is 565. So you need to give whoever is set as the coach now a -1 for GID and give Jackson 565. Again...I have no clue if that even shows up in Leftos editor...but it's crucial...

Thanks, but I still think that won't work for PS3. I see an ID number for the 98 Bulls under the Teams tab--69--but no GID. The only GID I see is under the Jerseys tab, which is 370 and 371. Jackson is in the game (5076) but he isn't a coach. Like I said before, I want to make him the head coach and Cartwright (5142) the assistant. I plan on doing this for as many of the historic teams as I can, but I just wanted to start with the 98 Bulls. There's gotta be some way to do this because I've read some posts with people saying they've made coaching changes on current teams on PS3; I just want to make changes on the historic teams. And you're right: I'm also thinking that you must make the changes for both the Teams tab as well as the Staff tab, and not just one of them.

Thanks again. Can anyone else help?

Is it possible to use the roster editor for NBA 2K11 or NBA 2K12 for the PS3???

Anyone know how yo get the customJersey offset back? Then roster I'm using suddenly can't find the jersey offset anymore. There's no way to search the hex for it since its not a roster file(I don't think...)

The base roster you used should have that right? So download the base roster you used load it into the editor write copy it down then put it into the roster your editing. Wouldn't that work? Or maybe I'm not understanding what's going on.

Possibly. Its a matter of me remembering which one I used. I got this one late during the season.

Can anyone on PS3 help me out (post #305)? I've changed the jerseys and the colors of the socks and shoes; this is the only thing holding me up. Thanks to all those who tried to help before; I think what I need is a step-by-step guide in replacing generic coaches of historic teams with historic ones (head coaches and assistant coaches).

                      Thanks again.

And PJ: the only thing I can think of that you might be referring to is that when Jordan returned from playing baseball, he was listed at a higher weight. Most websites, publications, video games, etc, had him listed at 216lbs.
I have always read that his weight was 216 lbs.
In 2k11 it was the case and i discovered it in 2k13 i was disapointed. I'm sure his weight was 216 lbs.

But for leftos i am still thinking it is really difficult and the result is not so interesting. Or show me other photos and videos to prouve the contrary.

In following Jordan's career, I remember he was listed at 198lbs for a long time (before his stint with baseball). Even though he was skinny in his baseball uniform with the Birmingham Barons and the Scottsdale Scorpions, he talked about coming back to basketball with his "baseball weight" (216lbs). Although he came back at the tail end of the 1994-95 season, he played in the post a lot more starting in '95-96, and the added weight helped; so he wasn't always 216lbs.

Installing Leftos wasn't the easiest thing in the world--my wife did it because she does computer programs for her job; but in my opinion it is well worth it. I've been able to make the following changes to reflect real-life appearances:

                          * 02 Kings black socks AND shoes home AND away
                          * 01 76ers black socks AND shoes home AND away
                          * 98 and 96 Bulls white socks AND shoes home AND away
                          * 96 Bulls black pinstripe alternate away uniform
                          * 94 Nuggets black shoes home AND away
                          * 93, 91, and 89 Bulls white shoes home AND away
                          * Dream Team accessory and shoe edits

If I could get someone to tell me exactly how to replace generic head and assistant coaches of historic teams with historic coaches (even though they have the black arm/hand glitch) I'll be set. So yes, it's well worth it for the changes you can make.

Say for example you want to change the 96 Bulls coach to Phil Jackson. First go to http://www.operationsports.com/hokup...ach-codes-ids/ and find Phil Jackson's CFID. Then go to the editor and you need to find a Generic coach to assign his CFID to. That would be in the staff tab. Let's say Dean Hamilton his is 5116. Change Hamilton's CFID to 5009 which is Phil Jackson's. Then go to the team tab and change the 96 Bulls head coach to Hamilton's ID# which in the roster I'm looking at is 34, 85, or 617 depending on which one you assigned Phil Jackson's CFID to. Now this will not change his name to Phil Jackson it will still be Dean Hamilton, but it will be Phil Jackson on the sidelines. As of right now there is no way to change the coaches name. If the coach you are trying to put on a team is already in the game it's as easy as just assigning his ID to that team. Jackson is not that's why you have to do it this way.

P.S. The way I find the generic coaches is download RED MC and a Xbox roster and use it as a reference. The names are shown on that roster editor while on Leftos they are not.

Thank you so much. I will give this a shot pretty soon. If it works, I'll thank you again! If it doesn't, I'll let you know so I can finally get it. Again, thank you so much. I hope you read my posts 301, 303, and 305; I was about to give up.

Edit: on the Teams tab, the 98 Bulls are number 69--so do I give the coach of the team with number 69 beside it Jackson's CFID?

I did, I was really hoping someone would answer you before I did because I don't feel I'm very good at explaining things in writing very well. I know how to do it just the writing it down and getting it to mean what I'm trying to say.
