Third season is behind me with the Lakers. Missed the playoffs, once again. Ended the season with 39-44 record. Got the #9th pick in the draft.
The last day of the season was a extremely sad day in the NBA. Five players who devoted their lives to basketball decided to say last goodbyes to NBA. Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan and the Lakers' Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett. Only Pierce was left out from Hall of Fame.
Kobe's retirement was a slap in the face with a sledgehammer. I really thought he has atleast two years in him. Maybe he got sick and tired of missing playoffs year after year. So the offseason's main goal was to find a scorer to fill Kobe's shoes.
Cameron is officially a freaking superstar. Achieved an All-Star nomination (as did Parsons and Kobe), 1st Team All-NBA and 1st Team All-Defense. Ended season with 22.0ppg, 6.4rpg, 6.7apg, 1.5spg and 1.3bpg. And he is still only 22 years old.
In the draft I selected The Freak Trey Tripplett at #9. He's going to start the season as starter. In the second round I somehow got one of my favorite players in these classes: Fabijan Novoselec. Although I had to trade up few spots to grab him. The witty Croatian reminds me of Hedo Turkoglu.
Free agency had two really big fish in Kevin Durant and Kevin Love. Love is one of my alltime favorite players so I slammed max deal to him. Four years and 83M$. Durant decided to bring his talents to Miami. Heat has some serious fire power in their team now. Or how does lineup: Chalmers, Wade, Durant, Bosh and Cousins sound like to you. BIG4, eh?
Signed Kjellson, Robinson and Kirilenko to extensions. Also traded magical Kyle Korver to back-up Tripplett. Last season I also traded Robin Lopez and Boris Diaw for Anderson Varejao. Lopez didn't do the things I expected from him.
Lakers 2016-17
Adam Cameron, Nate Robinson, Jacque Parker
Trey Tripplett, Kyle Korver
Chandler Parsons, Andrei Kirilenko
Kevin Love, Gregory Livingston, Fabijan Novoselec, Steve Novak
Anderson Varejao, Gustaf Kjellson, Julian Beck
I have started the season dreadfully with five straight losses. Well there is only one way and that's UP!
