Re: How Do I Open PS3 files in RED MC??

    -download bruteforce
    -open the file in bruteforce
-click the decrypt PFD button and choose decrypt all files
-select yes when it asks if you want to decrypt USERDATA (keep bruteforce open, don't exit yet)

now it will be decrypted so you can open it in RED MC.

-after you are done editing, go back into bruteforce, and click on update PFD, then of the 3 options that pop up, choose update PFD (full).
-then click verify PFD, and you are good to put the file back on your PS3.

If you are new to using bruteforce, you will need to set it up so that you chose your own ps3 profile to assign to saves. I don't think you will need to do this if you are editing saves from your PS3, but if you ever want to use someone else's files, you will need to make sure you assign your own profile to the save.

This video also shows you how to do it if you are still having trouble.

    Hope this helps.

What file exactly is showing up as a .RAR? You may need winRAR or 7zip to open and install bruteforce/red mc. Sorry for the confusion, I thought you meant to ask if you need it to open the roster files, but yes, you will need to use winRAR or 7zip to open/install bruteforce.

Can you give some more details? What type of file are you trying to open? When opening something in bruteforce, you open an entire folder, not a single file. When opening, find your save, and it should go, PS3>SAVEDATA>BLUS(etc...), so when you click the BLUS(etc..) that's when it should open. If you have yahoo messenger, hit me up and I will try to help. I'm opening the 2k14 BLUS... folder in BF and it comes up as unreadable...i understand a profile must be set up, and I have no idea how that is done with this unreadable file.

Winrar / 7zip just extracts the files from the .rar container

First of all you must have brute force when you open it , it may ask you to set up a profile you don't the profile is for your param sfo like if you want to rebuild a gamesave you'd rebuild it with that paramsfo so your ps3 can recognize that's your game save.
                              Let's get started

Step 1. Put a USB stick into your ps3 and go to "Saved Data Utility (PS3) and copy your NBA 2k14 gamesave to your USB stick that's in the PS3 for example (myCareer, roster, association etc)

Step 2. Remove your USB stick from your ps3 and put it into your computer or laptop and open up "Bruteforce save data"click on the three dots "..." Which is next to icons. This is going to bring you to a browse directory to find your folder . Find computer and click on arrow next to it and the menu will open up so for me my USB says "Removable Disk (I" click on the arrow and you should see a folder on your USB named "PS3" click on it and go to "SAVEDATA" click on that and you should see your gamesave from when you copied it from your ps3. I used the myCareer gamesave so it will be "BLUS31204-CMG-1-E51B043613" highlight the folder by clicking on it and go to option that says "OK"

Step 3. After you press "ok" you will see your file open up in Bruteforce click on the file and it should be highlited blue click on "DECRYPT PFD" then "Decrypt all files" then click yes . If done right the option encrypt PFD should be highlited in green.

Step 4. Open up RedMc find the gamesave file like you did in step 2 and mod it to your liking. When your done modding it click on "file" then click on "save all" when it gets done saving go to Bruteforce and click on "encrypt PFD"then click "encrypt decrypted files" then click "yes"

Step 5. Remove your USB from your PC and put it into your ps3. Go back to save data utility and press X on USB device find your gamesave and copy it back to your ps3 and it will ask you two questions about overwriting press X on the "yes" option both times and your done.

Step 6. Have fun with your nba2k14 file you've just modded
