A couple questions for you guys...Pared in particular

1) Best quarter length with these sliders? 12min? 10min?

2) Also, what exactly are the main fixes these sliders provide (all im looking for are realistic FG%, ppg, apg, spg, just purely statistics...im not looking for gameplay fixes...are these sliders for me)?

I play 10 minute quarters with Pared's slider tweaks. I play more of an uptempo game, and I've been still getting around 70-90 shots a game with a decent amount of trips to the line. Scores vary from high 80s to the 110 areas, and FG % are around the .450 area when its a low scoring game and around .500 in high scoring games. I finally got my first win after going 0-6 for my first six games lol. All games were competitive until the 4th quarter where the comp just goes on a run, and with me playing catch up the whole quarter.

It also helps that I traded away shane battier for rashard lewis, because I couldn't figure out shane battier's quick release which led to some scoring droughts and thus the computer going on a run.

I've been getting low turnover though, under 10 a game for both teams.

Wouldn't that increase the shots per game since the clock runs slower and games take longer as a result?

I'm not exactly sure that the clock slows down when you decrease the game speed. I was under the impression that the pace of the game will slow down, and so both teams won't be able to get up and down the court as fast as they did previously.

At those people having problem with getting good shots, you could try and lower the contest shot slider instead of increasing the shooting success sliders. You'll get more open looks, or in some cases shots where the opponent will put a hand in your face instead of trying to block the shot which is quite realistic as well.

Pared quick question(s)...

I had been using the pre-patch tweaks, today I upgraded to the post patch tweaks, but my question is simple... isn't the CPU defense too good now?

I just played my sixth association game and got blown out by 36 by the Pistons. Their stats look great, but I couldn't catch a break to shoot a "good looking" jumper. All I got were tough jumpers, contested threes, etc...

What do you think, just want to hear your opinion.

I wanted to make Pro harder. You can lower on-ball D by the CPU. It's going to vary by every one's skill level, but where it is now, you should see a better variance with good and bad teams.

It takes a couple of games to get used to things however. I've played Nets-Magic a few times and there were games where Orlando could not hit the ocean with a rock. The game just such a good job of giving a different "feel" each game that it's difficult to just say, "play X vs. Y" to see a specific result.

Well I must agree with you. So far this season the Magic have had hot games where they can't miss from the field and also another game where they just can hit one.

I think it's all related to their practice schedule and the amount of games played per week. I will play another two games with the current sliders if I am still having a tough time by then then I will lower the cpu on ball d.

Pared, I got you pre-patch set and I'm going to try these too.

Comparing the two sets of yours, what I liked most is that you have reduced the tweaks to a limited number of sliders/tendencies. I like this approach not only because individual/teams tendencies/attributes should not be messed up, bu also because I feel that the game plays quite fine "out of the patch".

I have a couple of more general doubts about gameplay and maybe someone can help me
I play 11 min quarter but I usually cannot score 100 points if shooting below 50%, as instead happens IRL. What do you suggest (consider that FG att are around 80 which should be fine)? More FT? More 3s?

Faster tempo. Most teams when they score that much have a much higher number of FGA. Bucks had 99 FGA last night in their loss to the Bucks.

On a side note, the Magic shot 32 3's last night. Good grief. Perhaps my coaching changes were unwarranted? Hmm...

I was playing on allstar post patch, couldn't hit a wide open shot and didn't like how the cpu was playing - switched back to pro and tried Pared's tweaks, very nice so far. The only difference was I turned up the on the ball d or me and cpu, we where both beating eachother off the dribble a little to easy. Other than that I played some great games last night, its weird it seems like Star players play smarter and more aggresive on Pro than Allstar, its like the cpu looks to get the star players more involved, which is good. One other thing I wanted to suggest was to maybe lower the dunk success to 46, you will see a good amount of missed jams when players are trying to force there dunks in the lane with contact, makes it seem very realistic. Also Pared I was wondering why was Hands set at 45, I thought raising this would force more turn overs cause isn't it tied to tip passes in the lane?

Pared I am starting to win every game on All star with your sliders. Do you recommend me trying them on a higher level or keeping them on All star and just tweaking them more in the cpu's favor? Thanks

Will these work pretty decent on all-star? I'm just finding it way too easy to get away from a defender to get a open shot or get in the lane.
