Anyone else notice if there is some sort of catch-up logic in this game?

I was up on the Celtics by 13 going into the 4th with the Lakers. All of a sudden they start raining 3's on me left and right. Held them to 45% from the floor for the first 3 quarters. They ended up dropping 42 pts in the 4th and 86% from the floor.

It seemed like no matter who i had in there or how tight my D was, there was no stopping them. Anyone else see this? Have to do with the clutch factor slider @15? I play with clutch factor off.

Yeah man I feel u...every game the CPU plays a quarter like hell, and my players are dumb all of a sudden. But its not a slider issue im afraid, It happens in close games too.

its only in association when selecting the team press Y(360) or triangle (PS3)...which is stupid imo...

            Re: Playmakers 2K10 All-Star Sliders

Here are a couple of my results, played one full game with these sliders and played them with all the calls being set to 50, it was the Pistons against the Lakers.

Won 98-70 at the end on 10 minute quarters, didn't feel out of sync and felt like it had a good flow.

Tried a 2nd game with these sliders and the settings for the foul calls. Played a game with as the Lakers against the 76ers, time prevented me from completing the game and was only able to manage under 3 quarters.

At that time, I was leading 76-52 and was shooting 66% from the field. But the biggest stat that jumped off the page was the free throws. I had shot 31 free throws while the 76ers only managed 4.

Now that might be down to my defense or it might just of been the rules being rubbish, eitherway, that doesn't look right to me.

And Kobe got into foul trouble in the first half for picking up 3 reaching in calls. Everytime when I was not controlling him. The most likely reason for this is his tendancies in the roster that caused him to reach in those 3 times but he was in foul trouble because of something I didn't do.

I hope when I go games against the Cavs and Celtics that the score is abit closer because at the moment, it's simple to dump it into Gasol and let him go to work or use the pick and roll with Kobe and Gasol to get points and with fouls being called everytime I was going to the basket, points wouldn't be a problem.

And I believe I had 10 fouls from the 76ers in the first quarter alone.

              Re: Playmakers 2K10 All-Star Sliders

You guys will have to play around with the Foul sliders a little to fit your style of play.

I wanted to get the Human players to atleast committ some fouls on their own.

If your using the Lakers the Inside scoring sliders might be too high for them because they have great players. Try lowering Inside and Close Shot to around 38/40 and see if that helps a bit.

If this was 2k9 I'd be right there with you, but I'm not getting that feeling with 2k10. But, I play with clutch factor off, and clutch factor slider at zero for both. Those 2 things cause sort of a catch up logic. Trust me.

Oh yeah, the cpu not driving in enough was a bit of a problem, but then I went to the tendencies and I put the midrange at 70, drive in at 94, close and inside 47 and its all good again. Try that if your not seeing the cpu drive in enough. These are a great base set, and when you tweak them for your kind of play, its even better.

Clutch is always off, and I dont mean catch-up, I see it on close games too.

The clutch players will definitely go on runs at times, and hit clutch shots...but it never gets to the point where I feel like its cheating me. I've definitely seen the cpu stars attempt to take over late, and completely flop. Had wade go about 1-9 in the final 3 minutes. But I've had mcgrady go like 7-9 in the final 3. It all depends on your defense, and if the stars are on their game that night. As far as playing defense, you have to play a lot of offball to stop passes to the stars, come up closer on shooters you know the cpu tend to leave open when they help(over help as I say). Its a challenge but fun.

What level are you playing on?

                        Play on HOF?

First of all, great job Playmakers. These sliders are great.

Has anyone tried to play with these on HOF? I just played 1 quarter on HOF with me as Dallas versus the CPU as Orlando. I thought I would get killed, but I was hanging in there. I was down 25-23 at the end of the quarter. Maybe this wouldn't hold throughout an entire game, but I wasn't trying that hard. I didn't worry about substitutions, timeouts, or plays. I just wanted to see what it would be like.

The stats looked about right, although OFF REBs seemed to be lacking. Vince Carter was killing us, and D. Howard didn't have that many touches.

I'm going to play a whole game at this level at some point to see what happens. I'm starting to wonder if the level even matters once you start to mess with the settings and sliders. What's your thoughts on that Playmakers?

I can't really say because i'm relatively new to 2K. I played 2K9 on and off last year but i highly doubt i could play on HOF level.

All-star seems to be about right foir my skill set. Maybe some vets can answer that question for you.

You weren't shooting lights out on Pro?

I wonder if increased "D" on Pro level for CPU allows games to be competive but ratings take over more offensively...

I didn't start enjoying Live 10 until I dropped down to Pro Level and jacked up the CPU defense really high. I think the perception now days is all games are easy on lower levels. But lately even in NCAA football i've started to discover that if you really work on sliders some times the lower levels bring out the best game play.

But we as sportgamers never really study those levels because we feel out of place if everyone else is playing on higher levels. I'm guilty of that approach myself but recently I've become a little better at giving lower levels a FAIR SHOT with sliders adjusted to make game play more competive.

I actually tried playing on Superstar and Hall of Fame and even though it was competitive, it didn't seem near as fun as All Star. It just seems to flow alot better on All Star
