Re: NBA 2K10 Gameplay Sliders PuntNL

Thanks for the tips... Just posted my final version of the All-Star sliders version 2.0 in the opening post. Changes from version 1.9 are highlighted. Never say never, but as for All-Star this should be it...

All-Star sliders available on 2K Share: PuntNL v2.0 Final (username: PuntNL)

Working on a pro set as we speak and had a game which as for stats was looking very nice. The set is a combination of Pared tweaks and my all-star set adjusted for Pro. Game played pretty ok, but even though I wasn't focused all the time because of my son I was able to keep up pretty easy in the game.. Don't know if it will be too easy over time. Positives about Pro dificulty is not having the silly amounts of alley-oops and backdoor cuts, its just not there even with sliders on default for those 2 tendencies.

These were my stats, played as the Knicks versus the Pistons. Game went into overtime, where I was able to grab the W 122-120..

Here are the stats (played 11 min quarters and this is with my pro slider set):

I'm going to test your Pro sliders right now. I'll be back in an hour or so with some stats for you.

Great! Really curious if you like them and how you will feel about pro vs allstar...

Re: NBA 2K10 Gameplay Sliders PuntNL

Sorry I'm late with my response. Got caught up in some stuff.

Well at first I did not like the sliders, hehehe. My ability to get into the lane easily was gone! The game got much tougher, and I had to work a lot harder to get my baskets. It seemed like the only way I could score was finding the open man, either left alone near the basket or cutting to the basket. More than half my points came in the point, and I just didn't have the open looks from midrange-outside that I had in the other 2 games.

Carmelo was on fire, nothing I did stopped him. If it wasn't him scoring, it was Billups repeatedly taking knocking down jumpers or taking it to the rim. I need a bigger guard, that's for sure, but putting Iguodala on him only weakened me elsewhere, so I got frustrated.

FTs were on par, so no problems there. Interior defense has definitely been fixed. Nuggets are rated 90 and I felt like that was really accurate. I shudder to think what playing Boston will be like. 3P shooting again sucked, but I think I'm trigger happy out there. However, 3 of Iguodala's shots from outside were WIDE OPEN, and he missed them all. I'm going to go in to practice mode and see if I'm missing his release point, because I drained 3 of them with Kapono (and I know he's a quick release).

The very one drawback that I had with these sliders is the alley oops....my gosh, I didn't see ONE alley oop in the other 2 games. I saw FIVE in this game, one of them with Billups not even looking at the basket and throwing it to Anderson, who slammed it home. Way too many of these.

And you were playing these really on Pro difficulty? Will look into that alley oop issue, because I didnt see even one alley oop yet, but could be team specific.. If you had to choose? Pro or Allstar?

Yeah, that game was on Pro, 11 minutes.

I'm going to play a couple more of them though, just like I did with the All Star. At this point it seems like Pro might have the upper hand. As much as I hate to admit it, the interior defense was fixed, and that seemed to be a big problem in All Star.

What I'm going to do is repeat the 76ers/Nuggets game in All Star and see how that turns out. Then I'll play another game on Pro but with a different team, and put up those stats as well.

The next few hours are going to be fun! :P

Re: NBA 2K10 Gameplay Sliders PuntNL

Played 76ers/Nuggets, All Star, 11 minutes.

It felt a lot harder than Pro. I was working more feverishly to get my shots to fall. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's me, but I can't seem to buy a basket from outside the key. I had 74 points in the paint!!! Often, I set a screen up top and let the guy roll to the basket, where I would then pass it and get the open shot. Trying to get some open space for a jumper was impossible, but I had this problem in Pro as well. I think I might need to try a different team and see if I get the same result.

Carmelo AGAIN torched me. I couldn't stop him, so what I did was put "deny ball" on him, and then I proceeded to attack Billups over and over again. He got his 4th foul at the 5 minute mark in the 3rd quarter, and then his 5th foul at the 8 minute mark in the 4th quarter. This slowed Carmelo down, because I could focus on him and not worry that Billups would take over.

FTs were a little low, but this isn't a problem. They took a lot of outside shots and when they did get in the paint they were open enough to score without me fouling.

Interior defense was strong, like I said earlier. Very strong, but I was still able to get those cuts off screens inside. I need to pick a team that can shoot well, so I'll be able to test whether it's me that can't shoot or the settings that need to be adjusted.

One thing to point out: they had 3 or 4 alley oops, so my complaint on the Pro sliders is irrelevant. I guess the Nuggets have the personnel to do alley oops, so I don't think we have to worry about this slider.

I'm kind of torn right now...not sure whether Pro or All Star is better. Pro was definitely the lesser challenge of the two, and I felt that with better shot selection I could have avoided all those points in the paint.

All Star REALLY challenged me this time...not sure if it was because the Nuggets are rated high compared to the Kings and the Rockets, but it was much harder. Right from the start, I knew the game would be tough.

I'm going to play another round of Pro, and then another round of All Star, and at that point I should be able to distinguish them better.

Thanks for all the stats my man! Still looking forward to your other game on Pro.. Will post today also some Pro stats. Really have the feelin Pro will be the way to go. All-star is for sure more challenging, but also less realistic in the way a game plays out in my eyes. Some minor tweaks to Pro could make it the better set of the two..

As for your allstar game, you made the latest 2.0 tweaks? 3 point success on 51/48? 3 point shots just seem too hard for users this year!

Same holds for Pro I gues... You think 3 point succes for Pro could use a bump for the user putting it on 49/49 or maybe also a bump for cpu 49/50. Last option is maybe a better one..

UPDATE: Made some adjustments to the first version of my Pro set. Version 1.2 is available in the opening post. Changes are highlighted. Will post some stats with these later today..

Just had one of the most horrible games in this years NBA 2K.. Used my own pro sliders as posted. Unfortunately someone turned of the ps3 after I finished before I could take a picture of the stats. I know some of them because I checked during the game as I was completely amazed by how the game went... I played as the Knicks @ the Nets (NBA Today game).. I was blown out by 30 points, out rebounded by at least 15 and shot below 30% from the field. I hit 1 3 point shot out of at least 20 I think.... Damn I got irritated by playin this game... I know I am not the most skilled gamer, but this was just ridiculous and on PRO difficulty... just wow... Don't know what to do with these sliders... Stats beside this game look pretty good, but they just don't give me a satisfied feeling...

I use the Knicks in my association. There are games that i struggle from mid range and games that almost everything goes in.It's all about momentum. It's not bad at all.In a NBA season every team makes some horrible games with FG% around 30%.I've seen 26% FG% the past years.

Big update on my pro sliders. Version 1.5 available. But I think it will take at least one more week to get to a final version... Hope some of you guys can help me by posting some stats with these and your experiences....

I put the shooting succes sliders for cpu and user on the same level. I think for a lot of people these will give already a great challenge (at least for me it does). If you think its to easy you can tweak it to your liking by adjusting the user's inside / close / mid range / 3pt succes sliders by -1 or even -2.

I dont know if this is everybody that's using these sliders or not, but i been having problems shooting free throws. In 3 games with the Bucks I have shot 48% from the line. And Michael Redd has shot like 56% from the line. WTH?? I hope its just me rather than the game.......

Using pro sliders? I didn't had any problems with ft%'s

Some other people tried my pro sliders v1.5? Would like to see some more stats...

Hey man, sorry I haven't been able to put up some stats. Got busy with some stuff and couldn't play 2k10 for a while.

It actually turned out to be a good thing, haha. I just played a game on with your V1.5 Pro sliders and I thought they were really good, save for a couple things.

In the first half I was cheesing my way to the basket every time. Just moving around, letting cuts to the basket and open men get me points. I wasn't able to dribble drive penetrate, but as far as moving the ball around enough in order to find someone, I didn't have trouble with that.

In the second half I vowed to avoid sitting in the paint all day. At that point I was 2-8 from 3P land, which was better than my previous games, where I'd have already launched 10-15 3P. I decided I would try to work the outside game more, not necessarily force threes, but try to get the other team to double up on someone. Not sure if the Hawks got careless or lazy, or if going into practice mode prior to the game to understand each person's shot style was a good idea, but I was hitting threes like nobody's business. Granted, they were almost all wide open, but at least I made those, as opposed to the other games when even the wide open shots were missed! Finished 6-9 in the second half, so that was nice to see.

I looked at what you did with the FT slider when I was inputting v1.5, and right away, before even playing, I thought that was a bad idea. My suspicions were confirmed at halftime, when their FT count was something like 4-6. I considered moving it back to 75, but thought better of it; I wanted to give you the stats based exactly on the sliders, so you could see the difference yourself. My only concern is that I shot a good amount of free throws, 22. If we move the FT slider back to 75, will that result in me shooting even more FTs? Not sure how we can isolate the CPU and just increase their foul shots.

Their FG% was not suspect at all. 45% is a regular value in the NBA. I definitely shot well, though it was pretty easy for me to get those inside shots, like I said earlier. Just waiting patiently for the lanes to open up and for guys to get inside was my strategy in the first half, and because I was up by 10, it was easier to let the Hawks double up inside, freeing up a man outside. Hence why I dropped 15 more points in the second half. Kapono was nuts, hahaha.

Blocks might seem high, but I was timing my jumps, as opposed to other games where I'd be jumping right away, without watching the CPU motion. I know that the sliders were increased for this setting, so maybe we bring them back a bit, but I'd prefer to run another game without adjusting this yet, and see what happens.

Overall, I liked the sliders. I think the 3P shooting was a lot better, but I want to play another to test this. FTs definitely need a fix, maybe interior defense too, to get them to lock down better and avoid all these cuts to the basket.
