Re: NBA 2K10 Gameplay Sliders PuntNL

Probably raise commit fouls for user to maybe 75 to get more free throws for the cpu. You could try that. I think I would let the shooting foul slider be at 70, my experience on 75 and higher is that shooting fouls are called on almost every occassion in the paint. It will give you higher and a more realistic amount of fouls and free throws, but to me it gets a little too much then..

As for your result I can see you are a better 2K player than I am :-)... On ball defense will be the key to lock up the interior defense a little bit more. You could see it as your difficulty slider together with the shooting succes sliders... Try it on 50/80 or maybe even 50/85, furthermore you could try to lower the user shooting succes slider, because they are also some sort of a difficulty slider.. if you are an experienced player go for -1, if you are more of a die hard player go for -2 on all the shooting sliders. If offense will still be to easy than you could bump defensive awareness to 75/90.

I think those things should make for a more challenging game for you.. Thanks for the stats really appreciated. Hope to get to a final set in a week.. Having a very busy work week myself and a packed weekend... Still will try to get some test games in still...

What did you think of the quickness? you think players move at a realistic pace? Does CPU still catch up? You could try it on 40/30.. previously had it on 10/0 but game feels a little bit to sluggish, movements however tend to look a little more natural than...

I'll try raising the commit fouls and see what that does. Good idea!

Haha, I don't know about being better. You can go back and look at those other games, specifically how I got whupped by the Nuggets. I'm going to play either Boston or Cleveland next, so I can judge the interior defense before I change the slider. If I pull out an easy win, then I'll make those adjustments.

Re: NBA 2K10 Gameplay Sliders PuntNL

Hard fought game. Definitely the most fun I've had with your sliders. I sprinted out to a 12 point lead in the first, only to see them drop 43 on me in the second. Allen and Pierce were on fire in the 2nd. If they kept it up the entire game, I would have lost by 30 easily.

The game itself ran well, no hiccups anywhere. I actually felt like the game was as close to golden as we could get it. Then I looked at the stats at the end.

I shot 29 FTs compared to their 10. I did raise the shooting foul to 75, but then I was seeing a lot of ticky tac fouls on my end. LouWilliams got 3 quick fouls in a span of 2 minutes due to REACHING in, when I wasn't even controlling him. This irritated me so I moved the "Commit Foul" back a few notches, like 3 or 4. Probably a mistake, but even so, that change would NOT affect the CPU. So you were right in that setting the shooting foul at 75 would result in a lot of unwarranted free throws. I think I'll move this back to 70, and then increase the commit fouls for me. That should balance it out a bit.

Also, I think the FG and stuff might be a bit high. This is the second game where I shot above 50 and them below 50. Granted, they shot well, as expected, so their 48% is realistic. I hit 55 though again, so it's either my style of play (watching for the cuts and doing a lot of open man stuff) or the sliders are a couple notches too high. This should be clear when I play a third game. I hope.

3P eased back to a normal pace. I think Atlanta was just giving me too many open looks, because the Celtics didn't give me anything. I couldn't get it going with Kapono. However, my perimeter game was great. A lot of jumpers instead of the usual in the paint stuff.

Overall impressions? We're close, as far as I'm concerned. FTs are one of the last things, and I think I'll try some of that on-ball defense you mentioned earlier. If I see a high FG% again and a similar amount of points in the paint in this next game, then I know that I need to make some adjustments.

Good to hear that you like'em and that we are getting close.. I would suggest for you to lower the user shooting success sliders by 1, except for 3pt succes, keep that on 50/50. 3 point shots are just very hard to hit in this game. And probably go for on ball defense cpu +5..

Other thing I will put in the next version is probably a slight blocking advantage for the cpu. probably starting with 60/65...

Small update to the sliders. v1.7 in the opening post. Getting close to the final set I think. Hoping to get some more games and stats in in the next days. Goals is to have the final set by sunday. Adjustments from the previous version are highlighted, furthermore in (red) I put some adjustments for those who find my standard set to easy.

Re: NBA 2K10 Gameplay Sliders PuntNL

My camera isn't charged so I can't take a pic of this game, but I'll list the key stats.

Got my *** handed to me. I'm a Laker fan but not today. Kobe was unstoppable. I tried to get him in foul trouble but that didn't help. He was making everything, and when I doubled up I got punished.

They shot unbelievabley from three point land. Fisher hit like 4 or 5 of them. These weren't wide open 3's either. Not really suspect, considering they have a good offense, but that was quite a show. My 3P shooting was horrendous on the other hand, which sucked. I miss that Hawks game, when I was on fire.

I also had a ton of points in the paint. Their defense was too good on the perimiter. I couldn't find any open men, so I relied on going inside to either get the foul or get the close shot. Perhaps that's why I shot a ****load of free throws.

FT's were much better for them, but for some reason I shot more as well. I had shooting foul at 70 and I raised my commit foul to 65. Why I got a ton of FTs, no idea. But their FTs were just right.

I noticed that I had my shooting sliders ONE ABOVE what you had in v1.6 That's why I was shooting so well. Lowering it to the regular value you have (not the "for better players") made my FG% more believeable, so that was an error on my part.

The adjustements I made to the sliders were increasing CPU on-ball defense to 80, increasing USER commit foul to 65 (not 70), and increasing CPU blocking to 65. I hadn't seen your v1.7 before I made these adjustments.

                Score: Lakers 127 - 76ers 119

                Lakers: 49/96 FG (51%), 12/23 3P (52%), 17/25 FT (68%), 25 Team fouls, 51 boards, 8 steals, 6 blocks

                76ers: 44/100 (44%), 4/23 3P (17%), 27/36 FT (75%), 17 team fouls, 45 boards, 10 steals, 4 blocks, 70 points in paint

                Key Players:

                Young: 35 pts, 14-32 FG, 6 reb
                Iguodala: 29 pts, 12-20 FG, 4 reb, 4 ast, 4 stl

                Bryant: 44 pts, 16-30 FG, 4 reb, 5 ast
                Fisher: 23 pts, 7-12 3P
                Odom: 18 pts, 20 reb

Again a small update on the sliders. v1.8 in the opening post.
Trying to improve the perimeter game, keep having problems with my 3 point shot as well.. This adjustment should help, at least a little.. Lowered contest shots for the user back to 50. Besides that some other small adjustments and followed you on commit fouls for user on 65. The updates from v1.5 to 1.8 are highlighted.
I think this is very very close to final.. Only minor adjustments maybe..

Had one heck of a game on my v1.8 sliders. I played as the knicks against the clippers in 11 minute quarters. Really think the most enjoyable game so far. Finally was able to hit some more 3 point shots and midrange shots. Game went up and down and there were a lot of lead changes. Seeing the stats afterward made me smile, I really think they are very good (points in the paint looking great), only real point of critic for me is the amount of blocks, but that could be just me or just this game. Below the stats and boxscore:

Yaowza, those are some awesome stats!! Wow, very impressive.

3P look good, FTs look right, FG% is good ... very nice indeed. I'm so anxious to try these out. My brother is rocking GTAIV right now but once he gets off I've got to run a game with these.

I try to work hard at timing my jumps, so I'll see if the blocks slider is something that still needs adjustment. I hope that's the last thing, because your stats look great.

                      *fingers crossed*

I gave these sliders (1.8) a shot and they played great!!

The feel of the game felt very realistic and I think only minor tweaks are needed to make this the perfect slider set for me

                        - Blocks need to be turned up a notch. I saw 5 total in the game I played. (User: 4 CPU: 1)

                        - I had a total of 14 TOs in my game (7 each). Maybe lower ball handling and hands to 45 will help this!?

                        - Too many dunks!! I would decrease dunking ability way down from 50.

But other than that I REALLY enjoyed these! Absolutely great job, PuntNL!

Tough game for me. I shot horribly, and my usual ability to get tons of points inside was gone. The interior defense has definitely been stepped up. I was missing shots left and right that I usually made. Also, I had a number of missed dunks, but those were all contested. Wide open dunks were not missed.

Except for my FG%, everything else seemed to play really well. They were so much better than me offensively, especially their bigs. They patrolled the boards like no other.

I'll need to play a couple more games to make any conclusions about the FG%, but so far so good.

sliders not yet on 2K share.. have a busy weekend ahead of me, but goal is to finalise this slider set by sunday evening and than I will upload it to 2K share, but would be really great if you guys could put up some more stats still this weekend to help me make the final tweaks...

Currently only thinking about upping the blocking +5 for both user and cpu and maybe upping inside shot to 44. Looking into the dunks and turnovers, probably will go for both attempt dunks and ball handling on 45.. Keep the suggestions coming..

Played 2 more season games with the bucks. I know they kinda of suck on the game but when they go 2-15 and 3-19 from the free throw line, something has to be freakin wrong!! And I lost by 6 and 8 points!! In the ten years this game has been out, i have NEVER had this bad of free throw shooting. Im gonna play with the Lakers and see if its just me or some kinda glitch!!!
