Re: PuntNL's NBA 2K11 slider tweaks (for use with the Real 2K Insider roster)
Maybe not new for everyone but here a small test of the game speed and a convincing outcome:
<object height="344" width="425">
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bF9W3pkvAgE?hl=nl&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></object>
As you can see both the gameplay and the clock are going slower. 1:00 min. in-game takes more than 1:30 min. in real life.

As you can see both the gameplay and the clock are going faster. 1:00 min. in-game takes less than 0:50 min. in real life.
Default gamespeed at 50 gives you 1 minute in game = 1 minute in real life (checked with stopwatch). So for me that will be the way to go from now on. Back to testing quickness slider now.
Now, let's clock their 40's. Lol.Originally posted by Fabian Avenarius Lloyd[...] a man of subtlety or refinement is almost always nothing but an idiot.Comment

Re: PuntNL's NBA 2K11 slider tweaks (for use with the Real 2K Insider roster)
Okay and here is another one of my tests. Played a game with my v4.0 sliders and fouls turned off, gamespeed at default (50). 1st Half quickness attribute at 0/0 and the 2nd half quickness attribute at 100/100 (game was cpu vs cpu) just to see what is the impact on the amount of shots (and therefore length/duration of plays in offense)
1st half quickness at 0/0 total amount of shots: 99
2nd half quickness at 100/100 total amount of shots: 101
I know it's only one game, but I think this test is pretty straight forward. Conclusion quickness does not have (a noticable) influence on the amount of shots taken and the duration of plays by the cpu on offense. You can discuss about if it makes the animation more fluid and less frantic, but that's it. I'll probably go with 45 quickness for now.Comment

I see your making quite a progress here PuntNL. Keep it up, can't wait for your new slider version. Post them as fast as you can, I really wanna test them out and post some results. GL!

Re: PuntNL's NBA 2K11 slider tweaks (for use with the Real 2K Insider roster)
Okay guys as promised the opening post in now updated with version 4.1.
Changes are in red, not gonna explain again why these changes are made, there is enough discussed and posted over the last pages, so please just read back if you haven't already. I am sticking to 11 minute quarters, 12 is just a tad too much. Getting closer and closer to the final version, however these are still work in progress. Main area of focus now is steals, turnovers and the inside game (mainly contact and help defense). So please post your stats and feedback on these.Comment

Re: PuntNL's NBA 2K11 slider tweaks (for use with the Real 2K Insider roster)
Punt, one change I made for more steals was upping steal success from 45 to 50, and under attributes, bumping stealing to 52.
This is for both User and CPU.
I also play with game speed at 45-46 as otherwise I find it too fast moving, and this way is easier to play better D and not have both teams shoot in the 50 % range.Last edited by BoA; 12-01-2010, 06:42 PM.Comment

@BoA
Whatever fits your style. I prefer fast pace games and you don't even nearly score each game 50%. Steals are perfect for me too, I would even lower them for a point or two. Well enough said, gotta get myself some results."It is not how hard you push along the way. It is having something in you to finish." - Michael JordanComment

Re: PuntNL's NBA 2K11 slider tweaks (for use with the Real 2K Insider roster)
Hey PuntNL, just wondering, in your slider set where you have the red numbers to the right of the slider numbers on the left, are the red numbers how much you add/subtract from the numbers on the left or is that showing just how much the value has changed from the previous setting?
sorry for a stupid/noob questions it was just confusing me a little lol

Re: PuntNL's NBA 2K11 slider tweaks (for use with the Real 2K Insider roster)
hey, great work on the game speed. i have been playing with it at 46 and thought these minutes seem to be taking a bit longer.
then get this, my old man stops over and starts watching the game. big cavs fan etc. after the first timeout around the 8 minute mark he says "why is the clock going slower than actual time?" lol.. he would point that out lol.
i then come on OS, checking out the slider threads and i see this test you did. hilarious!!
back to 50 for me as well!!Twitch

Re: PuntNL's NBA 2K11 slider tweaks (for use with the Real 2K Insider roster)
@BoA @Raiy0 Steal and turnovers are a point of focus now. I'll probably not touch more attributes sliders than I already have now, that's what the rashidi roster should do. I only touched those attributes that needed to be touched because certain things are sort of 'broken' in the gameplay of 2K11 (f.e. offensive rebounds and fouls).
Will look especially into pass accuracy, steal success and playing passing lanes. And would still like to hear some feedback based upon v4.1 on these and on help defense and contact shots. Thanks guys! Hope to see some feedback and stats :-).
--> Yes, that one! Values in black are always those of my latest version, in red only the latest changes so people who already use them know what to adjust.
@Fiddy Actually was kind of surprised noone did this test yet (or at least posted it with videos like I did. Now it's clear, if real 12 minute quarters is what you want you need to go with 50.
PS. sometimes it's just so annoying that time difference, once you guys start playing and posting I am getting some well needed sleep and therefore my answers are sometimes kind of late. Well maybe not tonight because I need to see that Heat@Cavs game!Comment

PuntNL, how do you play defense? Do you switch or just play with one player? And on offense, do you run every play or freelance?
