Re: NBA 2K12 All-Star Simulation Sliders

I just tried a game with these. I like the overall flow. I had to make some tweaks. I increased the Stamina. Energy was in the 60s 5 minutes into the game.

I've also noticed a lot of "skating" and I never knew which slider to adjust for that. Guys are floating and it's really hard to make cuts. Every time they change direction or stop they take an extra 2-3 steps. Which slider can I tweak for that?

Otherwise, it seems pretty accurate (except for MJ going 2-13 in the first half

Got some questions for you Dice.

I have a some what broken left stick on my joystick, made a few adjustments for my play.

Does leaving on-ball D on 0/5 like Truth has it give me a big advantage over the CPU?

Also, how can I see more blocks or attempts of shot blocks & steals without over doing it?

No that shouldn't give you a huge advantage w/those settings for on ball d (might make it easy to get to the cup though).

As far as blocks you can go back to default 50 and see how that works for you. With steals I'd increase steal success by small increments (by 2 for example) until you get the desired results.

          Thanks.

What would be an equal medium for on ball d? Don't want to not be able to get to the cup but also don't want it to be so easy for me to get there every trip up the court.

I'm not really sure what the sweet spot is this year. For your situation I'd start @ default 50 and raise lower as needed.

                I have with these changes:

                Game Speed 40
                Driving Contact Frequency: 20/20
                On Ball Defense: 65/65
                Blocking: 25/25
                Go for On-Ball Steals: 50
                Take 3pt shots 45

Played pretty well for me but later on added this change in hopes that players like Kevin Love and Dwight Howard would get more inside touches:

                Look for post players: 100

That did get them more touches but still not enough imo for Love. Love took 14, 13, and 10 shots in 3 games however about half were 3 pointers. Howard took 14, 16, 19 shots in 3 games which is pretty freakin good but on several occasions had good shots but passed them up like he was passing out of a double team even though I wasn't double teaming him. Intentionally didn't double team just to see how many shots he'd take. Used the same strategy defending Love and he also kept passing up shots. Don't think slider adjustments is the fix for this though

Dice i've been playing with these with bed's opening day rosters.

I play on 10 minute quarters but the shooting % seems to low. I just played a game that was tied up at 15 at the half. Even if I had been playing with 12 minute quarters I think I would have gone to the half tied at 20.

I think each slider may need to be moved up a few clicks. I average about 35-40% shooting.

Might just be me sucking at the game though lol.

Re: NBA 2K12 All-Star Simulation Sliders

I ran a few games with these and I'm a big fan. Played Orlando (me) vs. Cleveland and dominated them shot at or around 50% from the field. My gameplan was to feed Howard often and after i established that my offense really opened up. Won pretty handily. Most recently I played 76ers (me) vs. Celtics and lost in an 85-83 back and forth game. Couldn't get anything going offensively and relied heavily on getting to the line. Brand had a good game while Iguodala struggled. (Something like 4-20 from the field) Only shot 36% as a team. But I really enjoyed them so far. Gonna play a few more before i tweak anything but i like them, thanks.

Just a question, but do you guys get many double teams? In the Orlando game mentioned above, some defenders cheated over on Howard, (who had like 38 points) but none went into that double team-trap animation. And on defense, what do you press to start the double team?

Re: NBA 2K12 All-Star Simulation Sliders

Playing with ON BALL D at a low number allows for way to many uncontested jump shots.

However there was a slider set that I tried that had drive contact frequency at 0. It was unrealistic as to how easy it was to get layups.

So far I have tried most sets on here the one that I found to give me a pretty good game so far has been majestics.

I left stamina at 50 seems to be the most realistic but with fatigue rate at 65. The other thing I changed was OFF REB HUM 100 and 0 for the CPU and then DEF REB both 0 for HUM and the CPU. This gave me great rebounding results for both teams.

Next, these sliders may be a bit physical for some (not crazy or unrealistic but you will see contact sometimes) if that's the case tweak to your liking or I can try to help. I'm old school so I like to see some contact on the court.

I used Bedwardsroy19's roster on PS3 to test so I'm not sure how they work with other rosters. Try em out & let me know how they are playing.

I've seen it be spotty sometimes....I think my worst game was 44% and my best was 50%. If you feel the need to raise any of the sliders feel free to. I'd try going up by 5 and then tweak accordingly.

Thanks for the kind words KBrown. As I posted above I've seen a good amount of variety from this set shooting wise...some nights guys just don't have it but that's reality. As far as double teams, the trap animation we are all used to seeing isn't in the game this year for some reason (there are plenty of threads here about it). However I have seen some semi traps in a few games but I have no eveidence as to why. To start the DT press L1...if you tap it you can select the defender you want to DT.
