I update op with small update. Ill call it v2.1 but it's very minor. Addresses rebounds, blocks, and the big man not getting shots issues..

The opposing teams AI is a lot smarter this year when it comes to making adjustments to your playing style, so if you fail to make defensive adjustments throughout the game, they will exploit that.

You really have to use a lot more strategy this year, I've had games where I was keeping my opponent under 40% shooting, but would fail to adjust in the second half and then they would shoot nearly 60%.

In your defensive assignments, make sure you turn your double teams to never, because when you double the AI will usually find the open man, also make sure in your assignments that you go over on screens and soft hedge shooters, as well as go under on screens and hard hedge guys that like to drive to the basket.

Also, make sure your calling out the proper plays on D throughout the game, I often switch to the 2-3 when theres a lot of shooters in the game, and man to man when there isn't.

Always use LT, as well as LT and RT to keep up with guys as they shift around.
Thanks for the advice. I will be working over the defense. Then lay out what some game statistics.

If theres contact you AND the cpu will feel it.

I also bumped pass accuracy down to 45 a piece.. This is giving me great turnover numbers in comparison already. MAY have to knock cpus a little lower, but im loving these changes so far.

Let me know if you guys know any huge problems or if the FG% gets too low. I'll get on it! Thanks! Keep up the feedback, please believe I really do read all the posts even if I don't like or reply, and all the feedback is taken into account when I update the sliders!
Just finished a game with the Pistons vs. the Rockets with the newest V2.0 slider set.

I'm not so sure why this particular game was so high scoring, I definitely wasn't as easy to block shots, and even some of the shots I felt I used to bother went in this game.

Was the blocking or the vertical lowered in this set? Because I went from getting too many blocks to too little. I had 5 total, Drummond and Smith both finished with 1 block a piece, while Will Bynum had 2 somehow lol.

I'm still working on my Defense to try to stop their penetrating guards, I'm struggling to get the big men to step up and help on D.

The Rockets shot 10/24 from three, Garcia had 5 threes in the first half, he was raining them right in my face, pretty frustrating. The 2/3 zone was helpless as my teammates just continued to leave him open.

I also noticed how the CPU turned the ball over more, it seemed as it they were dribbling into traffic more than simply just making bad passes. I was happy to get more steals though.

One weird thing I've noticed about my stats is that in a number of games I've took exactly 88 shots lol, weird.

Those are definitely oddball scores. A big one that stands out to me that you never mentioned is the rockets FGA.. 101?! Jeeeeez... Were they rebounding too hard ? Going to fast? At any rate that should calm down as defense improves.

Yes I lowered Vert and blocking. I don't think you have too little, as the most blocks per game last season in the NBA was 7.6 Not too far off from 5. some games youll have lower, some games higher, my goal is to have the best shot blocking teams peak at 8-9 per game. (Thunder had 8.2 2 seasons ago.)

Not sure about your scores though, maybe a great offensive game from both clubs, I actually dropped the inside scoring slider for both sider and RAISED defense effectiveness vs layups, so not sure why they were high. I like that my sliders can allow fluctuation rather than cut and dry stats every single game. Thanks again for feedback RAPH, let me know If your games start to get out of hand and you are losing the realism, I'm always open to change

Thanks for the block statistics, usually I'm on point with that type of stuff, but for some reason the league high's were kind of inflated in my mind lol. So that being said, 5 isn't bad.

As far as inside scoring, I did see a lot of variety and fluctuation throughout the game. Monroe shot 6/15 inside, 40%, while Drummond was 6/6. As for the Rockets, Harden missed numerous layups, while Lin was floating shots over my bigs up and in.

I just had a rough time stopping Lin and Patrick Beverley from getting inside, and defending the three point line. One major problem is my turnovers though, I know that's a problem that can obviously lead to a high number of FG attempts for the opposing team. Believe it or not, I didn't have any turnovers at all in the 2nd Quarter, but still manages 18 TO's. I have to work on that.

I'll figure out some better defensive strategies and play another game tomorrow night to see if I get better results.

Re: JA Money14's NBA 2K14 OneandOnly Realism Sliders

Lately I've been struggling with these sliders, I'm on a losing streak, and whats worse is that my statistics are no longer looking realistic. That's what bothers me the most.

I played 2 games today, both losses, one a loss in OT, the other a blowout. I'm really trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong now.

This was the first game, I was the Pistons vs. the Nets, the score was tied at 114 at the end of regulation. I know, too many points.

It was an emotional game, I had my inbound pass deflected at the buzzer on what could have been a game winning shot.

I ended up with 25 turnovers this game! Mostly due to miraculous deflections by the CPU AI. It was pretty frustrating, as you see, they had 22 steals.

I couldn't stop them from scoring PIP too all game, as well as their second chance points despite my defensive adjustments.

I've been perplexed at how I've been allowing opposing teams to shoot over 100 FGA lately, and I haven't been quite sure what to do about it.

On the plus side, I was able to block a lot of shots this game, 13, which is over the league average but my last game I only had 5 blocked shots. So I do see a lot of balance now in that category now.

Also, another plus is that it's not as easy to score inside, my big men are no longer averaging 60% shooting, but more so 45%-50% inside. I'm enjoying that realism and challenge down low.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention. I missed 17 FT's this game! It was like my whole team was at a funk at the line, they seemed to be a tad more difficult, no complaints though, I'll adjust.

Re: JA Money14's NBA 2K14 OneandOnly Realism Sliders

This was my second game tonight, I was the Pistons vs. the Knicks.

My goal was to try to slow down the tempo and attempt to control the pace in order to limit my TO's and their FGA's.

But instead of playing a fluid game, I really felt like I was playing "try not to turn the ball over" instead of actual basketball. I really gave an effort to make better passes and not play risky at all, but ball handling is just so sensitive that I still ended up with 18 TO's.

Due to my slower pace, I only had 8 fast break points this game, as opposed to 50 the last game vs. the Nets. I also had 30 less PIP.

I considered that in my last few games the reason why I was having such a high scoring, high FGA, high TO games, was that I was pushing the ball too hard, sprinting down the court trying to fast break. So as I stated, I tried to do the opposite this game, but it didn't work out too well.

I scored 90 points this game which was more realistic, only 31 total points in the first half, I did pick up the pace and score 59 in the second half though. This was my worst shooing game with only 41% on my FG's.

The most frustrating part of this particular game was the rebounding, Amare Stoudemire had 6 Offensive Rebounds in the third quarter alone. That killed my comeback. Amare finished with 7 OFF REB's and played unstoppable scoring 20 PTS in 21 minutes. The Knicks finished with 15 Offensive boards.

Positives for this game was that their PIP wasn't too off the charts, also my inside scoring was challenging and realistic again, and shot blocking wasn't out of control.
