Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
But I think Monroe may be better than the numbers indicate. Yes he can't shoot mid range that well, but he was only 15/10 cause he shared a froncourt with the emerging Andre Drummond. Before Drummond came into the picture he was showing promise to become a 20/10 guy. But I do still think he was overpaidIGN: Nicholas

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I agree that his defense sucked (and I'm a huge Nash fan), but could you really give me a list of 15 or even 10 PG all time that you would say are better than him overall?I'm not knocking on him for what he did on the offensive side...my whole point was he couldn't play defense. I never argued he didn't make his teammates better either. Just I can't place him as an all time great PG because he was so limited defensively.
The Suns had good individual defenders like Marion and Bell though...their defensive system just wasn't set up to win championships, and Nash is a piece of that as well.IGN: Nicholas

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Sure he wasn't a good defender, but he played for a coach that never preached defense. Nash's defensive problems could have been covered up if he played with good defenders and the right coach, like Dirk playing with Tyson Chandler in 2011. His offensive output outweighs his defensive problems imo, one of the greatest playmakers and leaders in NBA history, and he was extremely efficient as a shooter as well, almost a career average of shooting 50/40/90. It was just that his team wasn't good defensively, and I put that on D'Antoni more than I blame Nash.If I'm not mistaken, Curry's defensive efficiency was top 5 in his position at PG. I don't think Nash ever has.
The seven moves Stephen Curry mastered to become one of the top point guard defenders in the league.
I'm not saying Nash wasn't a great player, he was great at what he did and changed the offensive system that paved the way, but the Suns playing style was FUN, that's it...it wasn't built to win championships because the team never focused on defense. Nash got a lot of leeway because of what he did on the offensive side that people heavily overlooked his defensive inefficiencies.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I'm just saying a lot of what a PG is known for and expected to do is on the offensive side of the ball. The Warriors do a really good job of hiding Curry's defensive issues, which is something the Suns could not. The offensive impact that Nash provided far overshadowed any defensive shortcomings. Nash was not a perfect player, but what he was capable of doing with the ball was amazing enough to overlook his physical inabilities to defend.I'm not knocking on him for what he did on the offensive side...my whole point was he couldn't play defense. I never argued he didn't make his teammates better either. Just I can't place him as an all time great PG because he was so limited defensively.

Coming from someone who used Monroe a lot on Fanduel during the season, Monroe will put up some insane numbers. Drummond usually got more of the rebound shares/Game but Monroe went off in the second half of the season (Using that pair I would get 40+ Points 34+ Rebounds/Game) t'was a good time for me.
It'll be interesting to see how Kidd uses him tho

You can argue Steve Nash as a top 10 pg... But not even close to be a top 5...mynba2k14:
