Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
The reason CatDaddy added the extra day is super obvious.
At the normal ending time, I had something like 16.6k points and was somewhere in the 50s as far as position goes.
I napped in the afternoon today for 2 hours and fell from the 63rd spot to 104th, with 2.5 hours to go in the RC. Took me 45 minutes to move to 103 and another 30 minutes to hit #100, where someone stayed neck and neck (99/100 was my position back and forth) for around 45 minutes, before I started gaining positions rapidly in the last 40 minutes or so.
I ended up at 67th with 24,600 points (actually I played one last game (and bought a hot streak for it)) that should have put me at 24,610, but the game finished after the RC "ended" and I didn't get the points.
So, the extra 15.5 hours I played I had to hot streak and get around 8,000 points, or nearly 50% of the total that I accumulated in the normal 90 hour period.
That took 6,600 credits, approximately. That's $50.
In the LINE chat we have, people were talking about the top-800 moving super fast all day also.
CatDaddy added the extra day to make money; pure and simple. Compare the RC point totals from two weeks ago to the point totals from the first RC after the PO tier launched; points were drastically down, and therefore REVENUNE was drastically down.
Solution? Add an extra day to the event, without any warning. Refuse to acknowledge that it was done. Refuse to clarify if it's intentional and real or just a visual glitch. Those of us doing Top-100 in the LINE group realized early on that we had two actual spots where we had to be prepared to grind hard and keep our spot ... the normal time and then the later time.
At no time did CatDaddy even acknowledge they had done this. They were talking on social media but refused to answer any questions about it at all.
Extending an event to get more revenue is whatever. It's a business and the sole function of the company is to earn profit for Take Two Interactive to offset the costs of the NBA licensing fees as much as possible.
Extending the event without giving any warning or even announcement is ethically questionable.
Refusing to answer and clarify that it is indeed extended and thereby give paying customers some solid ground to plan around goes beyond ethically questionable. It's ethically wrong. A freshman level business ethics class would cover this ground thoroughly.
What CD did with this was outside of accepted business ethics. It was also, to me, a moral wrong.
I have talked a lot in the LINE chat about my plan to get to loyalty tier 5, and the group has been encouraging. Because neither Danan nor Brad had the ethics, nor the testicular fortitude, to just answer and say "Yes, we extended it for X reason", I have decided to no longer support CatDaddy as a customer.
I will continue to play their apps if I find any enjoyment from them after this, but I will no longer be one of their very low percentage of users who spend money. Ever.
It's not hard to tell your customers ahead of time that you are making a change. Unfortunately for those of us who play their games, CatDaddy is a business run by unethical businesspeople who rig their games to push conversion to paid play as hard as possible, and use aggressively predatory payment models.
The saddest part about it is that they seem like intelligent people. There is sound research that shows games in the mobile space which have abandoned predatory models have had significant increases in conversion rates from free to paid players, and have enjoyed significantly increased revenue (and, I suspect, much more satisfied customers who feel much more respected than anyone who plays this game).
I continue in hope that they will honest evaluate themselves and show more respect for their players and especially their paying customers. I won't be holding my breath any longer though. I finally had to breathe, and with that fresh breath it was the easiest decision in the world to choose to speak with my wallet.
I hope my wallet's words speak louder than mine.

Hmm, SmartForce speaking his mind. Never thought I would see that
Well done. Will he get a response? Doubtful, either way, it won't be the last essay, and I take comfort in that. Can't wait to see the response when they announce the loyalty rewards

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
The loyalty cards will probably be 1 UR for Stage 1, 2 URs for Stage 2, 3 URs for Stage 3 and so on...Comment
