Th green arrows show the boost for in position cards. You get the boost for all of them right when they start.

To remove the wild card, click on it and replace it with a duplicate card instead. Kind of annoying that they try to make you use them instead.

Just so annoying when others seem to get all the good stuff n lots of resets

Never mind, I figured it out. Still seems counter-intuitive to have a whole separate page to recoup lost bids, just do that on the my bid tab.
