I agree, they did. But using that as the crux of my argument as to why they shouldn't take away the 20 AS pros I "bought" seems a little disingenuous?

Edit: Ultimately what we're looking at are degrees of disruption with any fix they could possibly implement at this juncture.

The disruption of one far outweighs the disruption of another. My hope is that CD devotes the man hours and time to pursuing an elegant and fair solution, but I mean, come on...

That doesn't make much sense. If a player bought or played his way to the top he doesn't have a need for those normal star cards going cheap on the auction house. They're the players who are getting hit twice because they're the ones who would be one of the only players SELLING those cards when they were pulled, now they're going to much less than they normally would.

No that doesn't make sense, say a person got 25 AS pro's, he'd have no reason for the normal cards, and thus would have sold them for cheap, now that person has lost all of his normal cards if they either have to delete them or those cards are taken away. The best course of action would be to go back to where the game was before it happened otherwise no one will be satisfied.

I understand this argument but it's mega flawed because of a ton of reasons.

1. Regular stars are, from the beginning, 4th rate in their tier.
2. You have to be able to afford stars in the first place to buy them off the AH since they weren't free like the packs
3. It's not something that everyone had an opportunity to "abuse" similar to the packening
4. Taking away something someone used RP to buy off the AH is not even close to reasonable considering the users made a conscious decision to sell those stars for that price.

The conscious decision played 100% into the star market crashing because of the glitch though, this isn't just some players waking up one day saying "yup, I feel like selling my stars for 50-75% less than they were worth yesterday." They made the decision to sell 100% because of the glitch, just as the players buying were buying 100% because of the glitch. In the same light that players who bought will want to keep the cards you have equally as many players who sold who will want the cards back.

That's not really up for debate, everyone knows they sold for that reason and to be honest, if you sold your normal stars cause you have AS cards now I have whopping 0% sympathy level for you (not saying you specifically). The argument was that people who bought cards off the AH benefited like the pack buyers did which is false. Apples and oranges of "benefit"

When was the Packening you speak off?

Saturday afternoon. Don't remember exactly when. But there was a glitch with All Star packs that allowed people to "buy" them for free. Apparently it happened for about an hour so users were able to "buy" as many packs as they wanted. It has completely ruined the game

But there was also a TON of people who got no all-stars and sold off a ton of stars for the fear of the market tanking even harder. It may be apples and oranges but they're still fruit. Your benefiting from something that shouldn't have happened either way, just to varying degrees.

Honestly, I'm in the boat that you are entitled to nothing that has happened the past few days (outside of real $ purchases of course). Your free cards, your cheap auction house card, whatever you pulled, it just doesn't matter. CD should do something to kind of make up for the trouble but in the end the player base needs to look at it as something that only helps the games health in the long run. The only thing that could make things "fair" is resetting the game back to the way it was. Something should probably be given as good will for their colossal **** up though.

It might not matter to you but it matters to a ton of others which is not an insignificant number. One thing you also have to take into account with or without a rollback are the legal ramifications/monies returned issues CD would be facing.

Anybody would be well within their rights to request every single dime they ever spent on this game be returned to them, so that's a major issue CD will have to figure out how to skirt around.

A complete rollback would extremely displease me. I didn't play on Saturday and knew nothing of the glitch until after I had bought an AS pack on Sunday when they were 50% for a short period of time and got a Star Teague. Training him pushed my QG tier into Star and I pulled a LeBron as my freebie. Losing all that progress for a glitch I didn't even experience would be infuriating.
