Hey guys, I don't normally grind RC and I'm sure this is asked a lot, but how many points is normally good enough for top 1,800?

Around 4,500 points last RC.
I'd recommend going for 5,000+ to be safe, then play more as required during the final hours.

I think the star++ max reset is 237.

It's definitely more than that. I've had 2 resets at star++ that went longer than that.
