But the thing is when you do invest money theres not 100% chance you get what you want. Take the epic pack, its rumoured to be a 1/4 chance of getting a legendary (which is, I assume, what people buy them for) and every other pack has the slimmest of chances of getting what you want.
It just seems like a lose-lose for players and a win-win for developers.Comment

Randomness should not be a big part of a game like this, for instance seasons should not be completely random, they should be even for all 30 people in that season, there is no reason that shouldn't be happening already in this GAME. I won't go off on the lack of reward for your time invested in this game, but when I'm at close to 16000 qg played with out a legendary or even an epic pro drafted and then read on here about people drafting 3 legendaries during one rivals event. It makes me not to even want to play anymore. And when people like you and I come here to voice our frustrations we get mocked by some (not all) of the higher tiered players in the game or told to be patient by nwgd that they are working to improve things on a consistent basis, and to just try your best to improve thru gameplayI agree with you, in this game the rich get richer, and in most cases win cards they don't even need during seasons. While others get stuck in a Rare Pro loophole of having a good enough lineup to win QG, but not good enough to win seasons and improve your lineup.
And the programmed "randomness" in this game is a joke. Legendary cards should not be this hard to draft, not when you need legendary pros just to be able to compete. And Rare and single epics are now worth what uncommon and rare where at the start.Comment

Epic pro, legendary, Legendary Pro and RC cards are the only way to compete in this game ( seasons ) and the chances of getting them in the draft is next to impossible. I have about 20+ single epics waiting to get a dupe, and considering how hard it is to get epics, the fact their stats cant even beat rare pros keeps people stuck in a lower tier and unable to compete with the big spenders. Starting a season to try and get one measley epic, just to see a 4000+ stat player in your season, then having to wait 4 days to get out of a an unwinnable season just to do it all over is seriously frustrating. Especially knowing that a 4000+ player will probably have no use for an epic card, because they are running an all legendary LU.
Exactly my point! I can draft epics, and I have a few, but only having a couple of pro epics (afflalo and willis reed), both not great, and one legendary (Magic) i keep getting killed by guys with multiple RC's, Legendaries and hundreds of epic pros.
Just a bit annoying for those of us stuck in the lower-middle of the ladder.Comment

You want the best cards in the game? Fine, either play an insane amount of quick games, or compete for the top tiers in Rivals, or buy several packs until you get a legendary card.
This game is about making money. If you want a good deck, follow the path they've designed. If you're okay with having an average deck, you can for free. Just play casually an be okay with getting one epic once in a while and very slowly improving your deck.
Once the new matchmaking is implemented maybe average decks can compete between them and top decks won't kill their seasons. But I don't think CD is going to make the game more rewarding for casual players, that's just not good for their business. It's the way it is. Rivals is already quite rewarding on the lower tiers, it takes just a few of hours to get an epic pro.
Seasons are the mostly the only aspect of the game people get discouraged by, and by what NW has been saying, they're improving it. We can only wait for that.Last edited by Ezquerro; 04-05-2014, 07:10 AM.Comment

Oh I know, I made the mistake of buying one after the spurs rivals cuz I just won a David Robinson legendary and I felt like "man this is awesome I want another!" So I got the cr bought an epic pack and got a kyle Lowry that just sits around now not being used. I got suckered in, wasn't thinking and just wasted $20 on something that should only be $5 at most for nothing I can control.But the thing is when you do invest money theres not 100% chance you get what you want. And that was only one time, there are people who've invested hundreds upon thousands. I think I read Twista is 9k in....9k! And still doesn't even have every card in the game. This is why this game will never be fair because as long as you have people willing to spend astronomical amounts on a worthless epic packs...cat daddy will abuse otComment

I get discouraged by the fact that this is a game and whether you spend loads of money on it or not there is still no rewards for the effort you put forth in it. People with strong decks most likely paid for them they still don't reach the endgame, which is to get pros of every card in the game (which they keep raising the difficulty of by adding more useless rares of the same person on different teams, epics of the same player on the same team, or adding legendaries of epics still on the same team. Not too mention the worthless Rik Smits they just added). I hate waiting 3 hours for a series to end because one guy didn't energize till game 4 and the other guy stopped energizing all together
