What if next year, cards would earn stat points by playing in season, like +3 points on their main stat (like REB for Rodman or Def for Davis) and +1 on the rest for each season they played on?

So after 10 seasons (and if he played on all 10 of them) Rodman's Rebound would be 30 points higher. I dont think the bonus points should be higher, coz the cards would get overpowered too fast, i think +3 and +1 give a good balance and a motivation to keep your old cards as long as you can.


What do you guys think? Is that a good idea?

Not a bad idea, certainly would keep things interesting and would create some motivation to keep cards.

I was also thinking that it would be cool if you can choose a card's ratings. For example, let's use Rodman. Total points for his card would be 2000, and you can choose how to distribute those points among the 5 categories. But to not make 1 stat overpowered, there should be a cap on the maximum points each category can have, so OFF is max at 400, etc...

Well what if 90% of the stats's points was already fixed and players got to choose how to use the rest 10% ? That would give a better balance.

Ah good point. I was thinking that players aren't known for their defense would not be allowed DEF to be their highest total. It'd just be cool to see some variety between the same cards and make the game more interesting and challenging, because not every card will have the same stats based on category.

Rodman (cap 2000)

I had a couple of ideas for the game (or rather future games) and wanted some feedback.
1. Chemistry bonus: Using players from the same team in your lineup would net a small stat boost bonus. Something around 1% for two players from the same team, 2% for three, and so on and so forth.
This would apply season and quick game lineups.
2. Match-up adjustments: This would be for quick games and would change the strategy of them a bit. It would work by giving stat bonuses and losses based on matchups. A rebounding quarter featuring a PF vs a PG will result in a slight stat boost for the PF and a slight stat loss for the PG in rebounding.
If that didn't make sense here is a more thorough example. Lets say the quarter calls for offense and rebounding vs. defense and rebounding. You play star Patrick Ewing and the opponent plays Legendary Pro Kyrie Irving. Normally you'd lose this match-up but with the system proposed in place because you have a C going against a PG you get a slight boost and the opponent gets a slight loss and you might have a chance to win.
