Maybe I'm just really lucky but I've only run into 2 teams that had stats over 3.2k in 17 season (12-5). I've lost five seasons one loss was to one of those teams (one guy had 3.8k average but didn't recharge for first round playoffs.) the other four losses I've had were all fairly competitive playoffs in which no teams swept the finals. My stats for my most recent season (won yesterday) are about 2.4k, 2.8k, 2.6k, 3.1k.

One of your wins was probably against me lol. There have been 4 "lucky" cats beating me in the finals, despite me having at least 800 pts on them in every stat they still managed to beat me

Well the one and only epic pack I've opened so far was from the rivals event and I got David West (Worst epic power forward). After that, I'm not so keen to spend money on epic packs...lol

lol hellll yeah. Fav player since '00 and I know I sure as hell would never have been lucky enough to snag his legend card out of the draft. You beating my 5 Doc's right now?

I feel you bro lol. I beat them a couple times just to see what you had. He's my fave player to since 97. I still got his rookie cards I had when I was in 7th grade. Hope they'll be worth a grip soon.

He deserves it. He's an active contributor on this forum and I believe he went more than 35,000 games before acquiring a legendary; many others would've been screaming their lungs off if they had to endure the same bad luck.

NW would you be able to give us a hint on which teams will be included in the next rivalry event? :x

Pertaining to my epic packs remark, I meant that I feel like it resets your draft. say for example you get an epic, on average, every 1500picks. Youve drafted 900 so far, but then you buy an epic pack. I feel like the epic pack resets your chance of drafting an epic back to 0/1500 picks. In the end, it seems like forever until you draft another. That denominator of average picks varies for individuals ofc, but maybe if u buy more than one epic pack in between drafting, it increases that denominator. Especially if you get a legendary from that pack.

Thats exactly what I meant by having a hard time arguing his card numbers. Although I know you mentioned that you don't follow LAL too much, you're pretty much right. His constant role change within the team has affected his numbers and effectiveness on the court for some some years now. Wouldn't be surprised if other personal issues were taking place behind the scenes too, but whatever lol. A lot of people on here have brought up the idea you just did too, about player cards in their prime. I think it'd be cool as hell, but the card catalog might just end up being 4x the amount it is now. Could you imagine how long it could possibly take to turn any card pro?

I understand that, but I'm sure there are some cards that can be taken out and replaced while maintaining their perception of a balanced catalog.

If your experience pertaining to the sudden drop in the rate of picking Epics/Legends off of the board after buying epic packs is correct, then that may be the explanation for the dilemma I was in. I didn't draft my first Legend until after playing 35k-36k games. But prior to that at about 21k-23k games, when I finally gave up on the chances of drafting a Legend, I caved in and bought several epic packs lol. Pulled 2 legend cards out of about 6-7 packs. If buying packs does in fact spread your epic/legend card pulls further apart, then it makes sense why I pulled my first legend card out of the draft picks so late. imo though, 21k-23k games for a legend is still an absurd amount of bad luck lol.

Sadly I highly doubt this is correct. Random chance is strictly that: random. It's human nature for us to try to create patterns or theories based off our personal experiences, but 99% of the time it's nothing more than random chance. I did have one question recently for a dev about something similar, but ultimately it really came down to just random luck.

The good thing is that it seems like they're trying to cut down on the luck factor as much as possible, starting with the revamped Rivals rewards
