A couple weeks ago I was sick and couldn't play for about a week without feeling dizzy, about to barf. I thought that was excruciating, I could only imagine the way you guys felt.

Hope your injury got better, in my case the doctor who diagnosed my injury and decided on the surgery actually made a wrong call and the surgery made it worse :/ Injuries are really the single worst thing in sports
It really is. It always sucked for superstars/potential superstars like Brandon Roy, T-Mac, Derrick Rose, Greg Oden, Yao Ming, Grant Hill to get injured and not return the same.

Dude, that sounds terrible. Thankfully, I had a great doctor who had done a couple shoulder surgeries of my mom. He did a fantastic job. I had a second, minor scope in 2012 and he cleaned that out. I hyperextended my knee in August of 2014, and the doctor, where I live now, wanted to operate immediately cause he thought I re-tore my ACL, but I went home to my doctor, who had done my previous surgeries and saved me from having a 3rd knee operation.

Edit: Having those surgeries is one reason why I'm trying to get into physical therapy school to become a PT. My PT had an ACL tear when he was 17, when I underwent mine. So that really helped me get through.

Wish I could've had a doctor like that lol... In 7th grade I was playing left tackle and the runningback apparently heard a different play call than the other 10 on the field, and ran into my side as I was blocking and messed up my knees. It wasn't too bad, except that my doctor somehow mixed up the names of the ligaments I had sprained. I don't remember exactly which was which but say I actually sprained my LCL and MCL, he wrote down ACL and MCL in his notes to my physical therapist, and repeatedly called them the wrong names throughout the appointment and later check ups.

Obviously I did different kinds of exercises and treatments than I should have done, and they've been messed up ever since. Through the next 4 years I had multiple cases of tendinitis in both knees, including a period where I had Osgood-Schlatter disease and tendinitis in both of my knees at the same time. Then one of my doctors thought he'd come up with some miracle surgery to help remove the pain by taking out extra tissue in my knees I'd been born with. Turns out (as some of my doctors have told me after the fact) the extra tissue was really the only thing keeping them from getting even worse.

E: I also heavily considered going into that field after I found this really great physical therapist who had done some work with Tyson Chandler and Steve Nash during his brief Mavericks days. But I think I want to try and work my way into the front office of a sports team, I think my dream job would be a GM of a basketball team. Haven't even began the research into how impossible that'd be, though.

I always wanted to learn 3d but never had the opportunity to. I was a beast at 2d tho lol.

Yikes. I'm sorry man. You really could sue that doc for malpractice. Definitely not your PT's fault unfortunately. I graduated in 2012 with a business degree, and wanted to do that too. What I'd recommend is getting an internship with a basketball team during a summer, so that you can get experience there, if you're in college, or about to be in college. That's what Spo did at Miami. I mean he started out low, as a video guy, and now is the coach. Also, look up Rob Hennigan (Orlando GM). He graduated with a degree in 04 in broadcast journalism of all things, and spent 8 years right out of college in the front office, and is now the youngest GM at 30. It can be done!
