I always estimate one quick game as 30 seconds so 1700 games would be 14 hours with that estimate.

Take a little bit of time off for training and using up cards for space too. You will also have some losses unless you are twista with a 5 legend pro lineup, but that is mostly balanced by hot steaks. I think about 90-100 wins an hour is more realistic.

As for your earlier point I sorta agree. But just like the people from the last rival event aren't getting anything more for the time they put in, neither should the people who grinded before. I think in a f2p model or really any game stepping away is always an option if you aren't having fun. Unfortunately we can't get back hours lost, time only goes forward.

I agree with this. Not that I feel entitled to anything in any game, but after a certain -- even excessive -- amount of time devoted, you would think that the rewards would at least come close to what the spenders are getting. Ideally, buying packs should be a quicker way of reaching the same basic objective of getting great cards to play with, and right now that is not happening. Not even close.

P.S.: I do appreciate NWGamedad's candidness and his willingness to discuss his game on this forum. These devs don't owe us anything outside of a functional game, so it's nice to come across someone who listens.

Your problem isn't free vs. pay, it really is around our Season Matchmaking. The design is intended to drive players to Seasons, Rivals, or Card Packs to improve their deck from Rare Pros. It worked for awhile in Seasons, but as more players got better decks the matchmaking started getting players in Seasons with some "trucks" that ran over everyone. We are actively working on a new matchmaking system to make it more competitive again. Once we have that you should not feel stuck at the Rare Pro level.

I do agree with you, but also I think the season rewards should be improved slightly. Not a huge jump, like rivals 1 to rivals 2, but IMO there should be a better chance for a legendary than getting 2 draft picks, and at least 1 more place with guaranteed epics.

You spend about 5 days for a season and get 1-2 rares and 3 uncommons and 2 commons..... it's just a bit silly.

My favorite part of the game was when I needed to train cards. What tends to happen is you're grinding quick games to train your cards and then you get better cards. And then you have more cards to train which means you keep getting new, better cards to train.... but for me I haven't been in that part of the game for 2 months. I am kind of treating the rivals event as a chance to train up some random rares I have that don't have mates to pro yet. But I have 17 regular epics at level 25, and basically 58 rares laying around (some pro, most waiting for a mate to fill out the catalog).

For me the only fun way to play this game is to need to grind quick games to train cards to improve my season lineup, and for grinding quick games or completing seasons to then improve my deck so that I need to train more cards. You could certainly do better on season matchmaking, and I hope you guys can figure it out, but without improved season rewards, I think it will still be difficult for me to get new cards that need to be trained.

Can anyone tell me what approximate points gets you to the top 500?

I'm just barely in it with exactly 2000 points.

But I need to take a break, and got a three hour long night class later (starting in little under two hours), so I'm just hoping I don't drop too far out of it again. Since it took me a good 2+ hours of straight grinding to get from ~700 to that, after being in the mid-400s last night.

A lot of people do too. Just sacrifice other time. if you work, just quit, ask parents for money. if you have a girl, dump her before she dumps you LOL and if you are in school studying for exams, just say "next one".

went to sleep last night at 398 woke up this morning to 600+... barely got back into the late 400s... I think i'll have to reach for the 200s in order to not drop out of that Legendary Robinson.
