That's really interesting.
So the best training fodder considering what's easily available on the market is UR single...

Have you ever calculated how many common/uncommon/rare/superrare/ultrarare/epics you need to train a star single /star pro?

It's all from the game's spreadsheet that you can find on here...I just did some extra calculations.

Total XP needed for Star: 15000 (approx)
Total XP needed for Star Pro: 18500 (approx)

Experience gained from training fully trained...
Epic: 6116
UR Pro: 6180
UR: 4341
SR: 2930
R: 1848
U: 1049
CP: 1053

You can combine them however you want to add up to those Star numbers above.

Well I'm looking at it as I'm playing anyway, have nothing to train currently so I might as well train the uncommons and get something for them. If I sell 50 it's still 1000 credits haha

Rares give you a better ratio of earnings as a seller, so I'd go with selling those. Commons give us a better ratio as buyers, but it's close:

Rares: 18.48 per credit
Commons: 20.98 per credit

Also, commons rarely go for 50 from what I've seen.

This is all based off the spreadsheet that we have access to, so feel free to check my math. Some of those numbers in the training table don't follow a pattern so if those are wrong, then these number might be a bit off, but still should still be close.

After I started training the uc I did indeed decide to switch to rares after comparing the prices on them. The rares take a little more effort but will be much more worth it.

No problem. Test it out and see if it works. I might just have to buy a buttload of rares from ColtsAJD and see if it adds up correctly!

What was the legendary for the Heat last time? Just wondering, I'm "grinding" either way just wondering if I get the 5% in position bonus or not. I know Mavs had Rondo, which I really want/need.

No he's not Pippen is by far the best draftable Legend. Look up the stats.
