I agree. It would be great if they took away minimum prices and let us actually
decide what a card is worth. Most cards are virtually impossible to sell unless you offer some crazy buyback.
I understand why CD needed the minimums and tax initially as they had stated regarding preserving the integrity of the economy but they themselves have destroyed the economy by adding additional tiers and sub tiers and then not adjusting values of those tiers, sub tiers, and pro versions properly. As a result the minimums and BINs no longer have any connection to the actual value of the card (with the exception of PO cards which blessedly have a somewhat low minimum). Really, all that needs to be done is slash the minimums across the board and slash the tax and you'd get stuff moving again. No reason not to do it either with this game being near the end of its life. Sigh, I suppose that's too much to hope for.
