Is it still a good idea to buy MVP cards?

I am currently at Leg++ tier (should hit star after RC) and has enough credits for a single star. I am tempted to buy a MVP/RS Hakeen Olajuwon as I am always a big fan of his, but am worried that his card wouldn't last very long. Should I just forget about it and save up for a playoff card?

A few things you have to consider.....

1) How fast do you want to progress?? If you're trying to keep up with the higher tier players I'd save for a PO card or dupe your freebie. ( I can hook you up if need be )

2) If you're trying to just play casually and catch up then I would look for star singles with good deals and strengthen your RTTC deck and seasons deck to get a flow of star cards coming.

3) I would only go for the MVP card if you absolutely know you're going to dupe him. You won't get him any other way beside spending real cash or losing in the first round in PO seasons (where you obviously don't qualify for)

I'm convinced the AH is extra slow this weekend because lots of people are saving for Kobe. I know the market has slowed in general but I'm even having trouble selling playoff cards.

I'd be almost certain that 6k will be just fine for 1800. I stopped a few hours ago at 5,760 and have only dropped 100 spots in the past ~4 hours. I've just been playing +1s to get training cards and hoping for a rest in my highest tier. I would check back periodically in the next hour or so, but I'd be extremely confident at 6,000.

I maxed out one of my four 3 slot DeAndre Jordan's and put him up for min.. He timed out too.. Will try again in a few days, once the Kobe hype slows..
