i just realized what a grind it actually was just to keep up with the new sub-tier. i was in the middle of proing rttc bogut, lee, livingston, barnes, barbosa... and actually have some deals in place for some of them that were made before i decided to quit. i even have 2 avery bradley po cards that i got through season reward / reset over the weekend (which would have been my 10th po pro), plus a 8 board reset (!) derozan. i kinda reached my goal in a way, having 10 po pros... the 5 rttc warriors pos would have been a little bonus.

but when everyone has them... they no longer feel special.

i agree with the other posters... everyone playing the same cards in QG... the tier within a tier is not work (every since MVP, PnP, HOF)... easily obtainable (and dupable) PO cards that are more powerful than the reg PO cards... too much changing of the rules on the fly.

I don't know if I can ever change these cards and stay competitive. I mean those who are in PO++ tier and have super strong decks'll always use their best which is either a POTG pro or a Finals RTTC pro now, at least 1 or 2 of them. I mean I'd definitely go for a Kyrie or whatever at PG, a Frobe, an LBJ, Timmy and Unibrow all pro lineup but this new sub-tier makes them totally irrelevant just like some people have already said it here.
when the next RC comes I think I'll just go back to my super rare grinding squad since I've never used and I wouldn't like to use a 3/2 lineup. giving up one or two, some unsure (maybe worthless) PO resets for a 100% sure reward makes some sense imho.

as i said i can understand everyone who is quitting right now.
I got so bored and under time pressure that i stopped after curry this rttc. It was just no fun to squeeze all that matches into my full weekend and the importance of such mobile games is still FUN although many people(me included) forget about the fun part very often.
Like many here I will wait for the anouncement. I have no fun in QGs anymore and that mega rttc also took the fun out of rttc i think

Yeah, there are 1198 individual cards in this game, yet literally everyone has gotten a combination of only 15 (5 spurs loyalty rewards and 10 warriors playoff rttc cards).

It's no fun at all to play the same cards over and over again, when there are so many different cards that you could be facing.

IMO, CD really messed up this latest rttc and RC. They gave everyone the same cards, sent people from rare to playoff in 3 weeks, and destroyed the already dying market.

The loyalty rewards were also a disaster, however I think they should be given out again next year, but like others think they should be given out in the form of packs. This way it gives us users that played this year's game a head start and a way of showing appreciation, but will not give everyone the same exact cards to play over and over again.

I do not expect everyone to care that I am quitting, but I feel the need to address it with my fellow 2k players because I know you will understand, and because it will hold me to my word.

That being said, I am quitting this game effective immediately. I am quitting this game for a myriad of reasons, but I will only list a few and in no particular order. Before I go listing why I am quitting, I want you to know that nobody has put any pressure on me to quit or has ever complained that have spent money or that I play this game entirely too much. Simply put, my wife is outstanding!

1. This weekend I chose not to go to a family function so that I could grind the last day of the RTTC and get Steph Curry. This occurred because I sold a playoff card late the night before the final day, and finally had enough credits to achieve many of the rewards I wanted. Had I have gotten the credits sooner I would have grinded all the way to Iggy, but now that I am quitting I am glad I did not waste any more time. I also missed a Christmas night family function so that I could stay home by myself and obtain Christmas Curry (who I have since trained away). My family is awesome, and they deserve better than that from me. Besides none of my family members will be here forever. Especially my grandparents and parents who are getting older with time. I want to spend more time with them and do not want to look back at my life with the regrets of neglecting them.

2. I want to be a better father and husband. My daughter is 3.5 years of age, and is getting to the age where she notices things and is very impressionable. She has started to notice me incessantly tapping on the screen and that "daddy is playing his game again." On many occasions she will ask me to play with her around the house, and I will send her away because I am too busy trying to obtain the newest RC card or training cards so I could sell and have credits for the weekly events.

I can no longer treat her this way as I know that I will regret later in life that I missed the time she still wants to play with me, and thought "daddy" was really cool. I have also noticed that she now often prefers to play with the ipad or iphone than doing other activities, and I can’t help but think she is modeling my behavior to some degree or another. I do not want her getting caught in this trap as it can lead to many things in life passing her by, just as life is passing me by nearly daily.

My wife is the most caring and considerate women alive. We were having guest Saturday night from a different State who we had not seen in a year. And yes, I made sure that I never missed a free game night while they were here by either disappearing for 15 minutes at a time or simply grinding in front of them while they try to carry on a conversation. They didn't deserve that.

Back to my wife. As I grinded on Saturday I watched her prepare a meal for our guest, take care of my daughter, and clean the entire house while I selfishly grinded for virtual cards. She never complained at me once and she never does. I can tell you that if the tables were turned I would have been angry with her for not helping and choosing to stick her face into an ipad or phone. She does not deserve this!

3. The game makes me want to spend real money on something that is short term (1 basketball season) and on something of no value (virtual cards that expire after the season is over). I have spent close to $200 on this app and while I can afford it, that money could still be used much more responsibly. It could be invested into a retirement plan, invested in my business, put away for my daughters future education, or even just spent on a real experience taking my family out for a fun day where lasting memories can be made.

4. I am small business owner who needs to be more focused on his business, and to stay in the upper most tier of players, this game requires an exceptional amount of time even when away from the game. The following is a short story explaining what I mean.

I woke up find that I sold my Finals Klay Thompson this morning, and need a small amount of credits to dupe Steph Curry from the AH. I also wanted to dupe Green, Bogut, Barbosa, and Harrison. As I was riding in the car to the office this morning I was contemplating how I could get enough credits quickly in an effort to make this happen. I did some mental calculations, and decided which cards I could come to the forums with and offer buybacks for a quick sale before inventory of the Finals cards dries up or becomes more expensive. I planned that as soon as I got to the office, I would come to the forums and begin to wheel and deal, and as you all know this takes time. I was spending more time trying to figure this out instead of focusing on how I can make more money for my business. My family, employees, and clients depend on me, and I am more worried about building wealth in a virtual card game than in real life.

This is a considerable opportunity cost because if I spent that same amount of time trying to build my business I would likely reap significantly more financial benefits that are far more important than virtual card wealth.

5. My health. I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror only to see that the person staring back was sleep deprived, felt lethargic, and had deep blue circles around his eyes. I am no doctor, but being sedentary and constantly staring and tapping at a screen cannot be healthy in any way shape or form. I used to practice good health habits as I would exercise, do yoga, and drink vegetable and fruit juice from my at home juicer almost daily. As I have reached the upper echelon of players all of these activities have begun to get neglected because I can’t be bothered to stop grinding on the latest event. As a result, I have gained a little weight and feel more tired most of the time. I plan on living a long, healthy and fruitful life and I do not believe this game will help me achieve this.

6. The core gameplay is not fun. I have come to the realization that all this game does give me some sort of rush every time I am rewarded. Consequently, instead of having fun, I am merely feeding an addiction and trying to achieve a greater high by gaining better rewards. This is ridiculous because if I am going to be spending this amount of time playing a game the gameplay should at least be fun. Instead of being fun it feels like I have a second job since I am constantly trying to figure out how to continue advancing at a rapid pace so that I do not get left behind by the other gamers near the top.
7. I am neglecting my spiritual life by missing church so that I do not get behind for an RC or other event. I have also quit reading my Bible as often. I understand that not all believe in Christianity or any religion that relies on an omnipotent being, but this is something of the upmost importance for me. When I am focused in on praying and reading my Bible my stress levels decline and I am better equipped to handle the daily challenges of life. My mental health improves considerably, and quite simply; my faith will often bring me through the toughest of times. When I am spiritually weak my faith, mental health, and quality of life decline. I cannot neglect something of this importance for a feemium game any longer.

If anyone bothers to take the time to read the whole thing, I am sorry that it is so long. I just wanted to get all of my feelings on "paper" so that it would give me the extra push to really quit, and give me something to read if I ever get the urge to start playing again. I may come back for next years app, but with this one I have officially retired.

All said, I have 7,998 credits that I would like to donate to two members. 3,999 credits goes to Smartforce because I have notice his generosity with lower tier players by giving away cards, and taking the time to post strategies for events. The other 3,999 credits goes to Apos simply because he was the first person to trust me enough to buy first (3k) on an auction house deal. If you will PM me you can tell me where to find your cards on AH and I will BIN them.
