Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I think this is due to subbed in one of my '08 Dwight Howard (untrained, then trained him 30 seconds later) as soon as I landed him x2 in the RC; Kevin Garnett was his predecessor. Not to mention I use x2 Legendary Support and x2 Epic.
It was nice combining Dwight for my first Legendary Pro.
Hollalujah, I finally pulled another Legendary/Playoff SF (I was using epic-pro Iggy with Playoff Iggy before).
That leaves me with wanting LBJ Playoff (for obvious reasons) and Playoff D.Wade. That way I can save my Mid-Season D.Wade for Pro'ing and in seasons.
Oh, and I just finished training the card
I was so happy that I even used all the tools on Photobucket...
The Pacers must love me, now all I need in a Playoff Point Guard and I will be on cloud 9. I am hoping for Deron Williams as I have been using his Epic-Pro forever, but I will be happy with any of them (Stockton and Paul are both tempting, Paul more so.2k16 My Team:
PG: CP3, John Wall, Kyrie
SG:Klay Thompson, D.Wade, Kobe
SF: LBJ, Melo, PGeorge
PF: Blake, Aldridge, Duncan
C: '06 Shaq, Cousins, Bosh

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
So based on my season, it appears that there are at minimum, 5 trucks, two of which have beaten me without breaking a sweat. Based on my calculations, if I don't rank in the top 4, there is absolutely no chance of an Epic reward due to the fact that the competition will be so stiff. As a result, I concede and throw in the towel by game 7. It is not worth my time and energy for a rare card. I can pull a rare in 5 QGs. Perhaps I will try again in 5 days.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I see you Tyrel! But yeah, I'm not mad at the trucks or blame them, it's just a crappy hand we're dealt. Instead of a season being fought between 30 teams, it's really fought between 4-6. Just the nature of the beast. When we finally lose, perhaps we can bounce out and get into a new season while the prior trucks are still fighting...although probably only to encounter new trucks. At least RC is next week and I'll be tapping my way to, at minimum, a Pro Leg.
I think NW has it right that teams are getting better in the sense that more and more teams are getting towards 4-5k range... the problem are trucks are all 6-8k range now when they used to be 4-6k range while non-trucks used to be in the 3-4k range. Basically as much as the drop rate helps the average player, the new packs help the trucks more (like i said initially when the patch hit). End result, the patch only help closed the gap vs trucks that didn't buy the new packs. Trucks that bought new packs continue to maintain (or even increase) their gap and of course new trucks emerge with the new packs so there will be a continuous flow of trucks.
As far as a fix goes, like i said before, its unlikely to happen and NW has even confirmed this today in another thread (maybe even this one? i didn't read through all of it). The way the function/mode is built, to fix it requires redesigning the entire season mode because right now its tier based (alternative i suppose there could be quick fixes by adding more tiers or reward based tiers but either set would increase queue times A LOT). Also any of these quick fixes could hurt profit potential. Right now it works because some teams that get tired of being truck break down and spend $100s on packs so they can truck. That means $ in CD's pocket. Even among those complaining now, there will be some that will give up and spend some money in hopes of winning a season. Any fixes to this might cost CD revenue so if it aren't broken (in the sense of money making), why fix it?
Remember this is a free to pay, pay to win model. If you're not spending money (or realistically out spending each other), its very unlikely you'll win. Its how the model works and its more or less how app gaming goes.
Edit - for those that don't have a problem with increased queue times, remember i'm not talking about hours, i'm talking about possibly day+ queues (for higher teams, could be 5 days queues). That's not a profitable business model for CD.Last edited by Denkiteki; 05-28-2014, 05:42 PM.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Actually a lot of times, there is a fight by 20 teams instead of 4-6... its 20 teams fighting for 2nd tho not first. Often time there is a truck that clearly will win it all and then the other teams (that want to fight) just fight for placement/avoid the truck's bracket so you can get 2nd (and an epic pro... but given the drop rate, i doubt anyone who gets the epic pro even needs it, i got 2nd in my last 4 seasons now i think and none of them were an upgrade to my roster or even cards i want... the best one in the mix was John Wall and he's like my 7th PG, think i have 6 epic pros that are better than him already... got cooper in my last season and i'm debating on just training him off...).

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
This all makes sense and well done on breaking all this down for noobs like myself. My issue is and has always been with the fact that CD keeps making promises on looking into season modes and even attempted to do a quick fix since this has been such a huge problem for everyone. If there is no fix and they are not willing to address this they should be up front and say it so that people aren't feeling like they're being lied to and sitting around waiting for seasons to be fixed "eventually". Just putting it out there but I have a strong feeling this will not be addressed until next year with a new version of the app. To say they don't have the talents in house to rework the algorithm for seasons is a lie. It just wouldn't make any financial sense for them to do so at the close of the season. They waited around too long to make the change now. As long as some customers are benefiting from this pay to win business model nothings is going to change. Spenders don't see this as a huge problem and the non-spenders are just there to be trucked on for pure entertainment. They should are be happy they are now able to deck their cards out with epic and epic pros for which now legends and playoffs cards exists for the exact same players! Do we really need like 4 different versions of Paul George? Is he really that valuable? Or have 2 sets of the exact same epic players? If mid season a player changes for better or worse they should just review an update on 1 card. Period. If you look past the addictions you'll see that there are some very shady business practices implemented in this business model to see how the general publics reaction is and how far they are able to take it.

Could CD/NW announced a playoff tier a week or 2 in advance like most companies will announce when a new version or a major patch is coming? Of course they could've but they didn't. Why? Simple it'll cost them money if they did. If everyone knew about the patch with a new tier of cards early, a lot less people would buy epic packs between the announcement and the release date. Same for KD's RC... a lot less would buy HS knowing the card will more or less be useless after the patch (or relatively speaking a lot less useful, he's still my start SF lol but i haven't bought packs).
That's the same reason "stall" method is used for season mode in hopes players will play longer and everything stay as is. Remember the success of pay to win model also requires a player base. No one would pay for a game if no one plays, that's why its free to pay. By stalling a fix, it keeps more players interested than saying "there will never be a fix". That's also why the first few seasons (under 2k) are protected. That way at least you figure you have a chance when you first start, then when you get hooked, you are less likely to stop playing. If in your first few seasons, you face 8000 trucks, you probably will just give up then and stop playing altogether.
Of course i could be (and hope i am) wrong about the fix but unless this app gets carried over, it makes little $$ sense for CD to fix season matching now rather than in the new version of the game.Comment

Played 17000+ games and just pulled 1 leg that far (+20 mental game card) felt like the unluckiest guy ever. But now since update just pulled 2 leg yesterday and today! Magic johnson the 91' version and tom sanders and im 63games into the season and my record is 59-4 and im the best team by far so it looks like im going to get my 3rd leg this week! I got a couple of good epics and some epic pros too before and after the update so this game modes startin to get even more fun
