Tons of people did that with the Wilt card, and there are a ton of pack buyers who will leave P/O cards untrained as they are usually better than epic pro maxed.
Another thing a lot of people do is train different tier cards to certain levels, or legitimately pro'ing a legendary or playoff card and only putting a certain amount of exp in it.
Since it doesn't matter now, during the Magic/Hawks RC I ran with P/O Chris Paul, P/O James Harden and Playoff Pro Hibbert but didn't level him past 17.5 giving and I hardly seen a Legendary Pro. Two experience-less combined Royce White Pro's were my throw away cards.
I didn't need Hot Streaks for RC, so I went ahead and bought a legendary/playoff pack and the result was P/O Dwight Howard. I have also received more epics playing quick games to level up my second Elgin Baylor (I got up as high as 130 on Friday, but there was no way I was going to maintain that with my work schedule; so I just let it go and received Elgin Baylor (who I conveniently already had one of) and the epic support card. Funny thing is, I received more epics training Baylor than I did during the whole RC. I finally have my epic SG (Brandon Roy), picked up Epic Russell Westbrook, Mid-Season Evan Turner and Epic Darren Collison. I wish I wouldn't have trained the latter two since I had them before.
Time to start saving credits again for another leg/playoff pack, I would love a Playofff Aldridge or Griffin (PF is the only spot I am lacking a playoff card). But I am very happy with what the RC and the few hours proceeding provided.
