Curry gets MVP just because of the Warriors record over Westbrook. I dislike Harden, guy just pisses me off.
Wiggins because no other rookie is putting up numbers like him over the course of the season.
Jimmy Butler because he improved his offensive game
Come on, who really expected Hawks to be this good?
I would have picked Steve Kerr but Warriors already had a star studded team before he arrived.
I think Nikola Mirotic has a chance

Ugh. I feel like I'm ever closer to my Leg++ reset. And being so close but so far away from Star is just brutal. Damn you CD!

                      Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion

Here are some important stats to note when comparing Harden and Curry:

                      Harden: 36.9 minutes, 43.8% shooting (36.9 from three), 27.2 points, 7 asissts, 5.7 rebounds, 1.9 steals, 18.2 shots, 4 turnovers, 26.64

                      Curry: 32.9 minutes, 48.3% shooting (43.4 from three), 23.7 points, 7.8 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 16.8 shots, 3.1 turnovers, 28.02 PER

Initially it appears to be pretty close: Harden has more points/shots/minutes and because of this a lower shooting percentage. Curry has more assists and steals in less time, and has a higher overall PER. Curry has better teammates and because of this he doesn't need to do quite as much, which can make things easier on the court for him since there are other threats. For Houston defenders know that it starts and finishes with Harden. Harden has definitely been move valuable to his team (they'd be nowhere w/o him), but at the same time, Steph has lead the Warriors to clinch the 1st seed. Curry also seems to be much more liked than Harden, who can be hated for his flops, fashion and defense.

If you look at some more advanced stats, you'll see that Curry has a higher WP48 (win shares per 48 minutes projected in a percentage). Curry has .291 while Harden has .264. Harden also has a worse turnover percentage per 100 plays (you can't know for sure from basic stats since he plays 4 more minutes). The list goes on in favor of Curry: he has a higher true shooting percentage, a lower usage rate (by 3%), higher steal percentage per 100 poss., etc.

In my opinion the two are extremely close, but ultimately, Curry has the slight edge when you begin to dive deeper into the stats. He also has carried the team to the best record in the NBA, something the voters look at highly if you look at past MVPs.

So although Harden may actually be more valuable to his team with Howard's injuries/team, Curry has had a better season.

Harden is an effective basketball player.

That doesn't mean his style of play is likable, or agreeable.

But it's hard to say that he doesn't positively impact the team he's on.

At some point, you have to commend someone who can "game the system" as well as he does. That, in itself, is a skillset that can be honed.

With that said, I'd love to see him try some of his tricks in the late 80's / early 90's against the Bad Boy Pistons or Pat Riley's Knicks.

Edit: He doesn't deserve MVP over Curry, though.
