#1 OFF.
Worst DEF
#5 SF REB
#1 SF PM
#5 SF ATH
I do still put Dr J at the top because of his ability, but Lebron is right behind him & KD is a close 3rd.IGN: Wade County/Heat Wave

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Considering offense is one of the more worthless stats in the game for a player to be unbalanced in, it does make KD's stat distribution suck. For arguably the second best player in the NBA, it doesn't make much sense, and in fact, I'd argue that playing a Kyrie pro out of position would be a better choice at SF because not only do you get a fantastic PM that the 5% boost doesn't make up for, but you also get the possible +69 to team boost.
KD is like a Harden or AI in the sense that his usefulness ends at offensive quarters, or quarters that have 2 stats, one of which is O.
That other SF's are so poorly balanced is an indictment of the bad stat balancing, rather than being a reasonable apology for KD's distribution.
If you look at other positions, for example, Klay V2 has 3 stats above 3200 and still has ridiculous offense. This makes him a far more useful card, especially in quick games.
As it stands, even if you enhance KD's ATHL with SR's, he'll still lose a ton of ATHL vs ATHL quarters against players who are easily less athletic than him, but simply have a higher rating.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
The top cards typically have at least 2 stats that are higher than 3200. Bron's got 3200+ defense (fairly useless here), Dr J has 3200+ defense, Scottie has 3300 defense, and Baylor has 3 stats in total over 3200 total.

Well said.. Comparing him against his positional peers is one thing and understandable if you want to rank him high but for all the gloss he gets, his card is definitely unbalanced and not worth it. Which is funny seeing as how he's one of the league's premier players. Rashard is nearly the same card sans KDs team boost yet he gets vilified.

Honestly how often does any stat of 3200 actually win outside of ATH.? Top OFF/PM/DEF/REB are all 3300+. So thats a terrible classification for a "top" card.
Also Klay v2 & Kyrie dont count. They are incredibly broken. They were the 1st RC normal star cards & CD did a terrible job balancing them. thats why no cards have been even close to them since then.IGN: Wade County/Heat Wave

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I did enhance KD with 3 ATH & his stat is 3192. Thats more than capable to win with his +31 OFF/ATH ability. So I dont understand what you mean by him easily losing.

I have 2 UR Ath enhancements on Pressey which gives me a base 3246 Plus a Leg Hot Hand +60 ATH and I destroy every Athleticism matchup save for Teague. The bonus is Pressey is more rounded and can win most Ath+Def+Reb matchups.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I have Magic whos ATH is 3196, but still 9/10 times Ima play him OFF/PM because he's my PG. Thats the point I was trying to make to Mas, how often do you go into a matchup planning to use a PG/SG/PF/C for ATH. I've always put the responsibility of ATH match ups on my SF, I dont even think about using ATH on anyone else unless I have no other option. So in turn the only opponents I concern myself with for ATH are the other SF, which he ranks 5th among.. ALL those PGs SGs etc, dont matter.IGN: Wade County/Heat Wave

I agree that Klay and Kyrie are unbalanced. But KD's distribution still sucks because, like you say, the top cards have 3300+ in their top 2 stats typically, so KD is only winning offense.
Also, with regard to 3200+ being a poor classification, that would be true if quarters were only single stat versus single stat. But they are not, and the 100 extra in, say, playmaking could be the difference between a win and a loss in a double-stat quarter.
Factoring in KD's proc to label him a "3rd best SF" (which is a dubious distinction considering the current crop of SF's to begin with) is neither here nor there. What about other cards' procs? It makes no sense to factor this in at the base level of comparison.
(IMO)
(Also, this doesn't really take into account that for one of the better players in the game, KD's stats are surprisingly meek, but this is not something that's particularly relevant seeing as CD doesn't seem to balance stats around actual players' abilities.)Last edited by CedricFP; 04-21-2015, 06:27 AM.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Pressey, Wade, & Teague are the exceptions for man. Those are the only non SF cards that I consider as viable ATH users. Everyone else has more important categories to cover.IGN: Wade County/Heat Wave

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Lets take your John Williams (or any other non SF whos ATH is better than KD) how often do you actually plan to play them for ATH.
I have Magic whos ATH is 3196, but still 9/10 times Ima play him OFF/PM because he's my PG. I use him for all my ATH matchups because even though he has the highest OFF, his ATH usually wins about 90% time, especially when Conley and Butler have significantly less.
Conley can usually hold his own in OFF and PM, and I use Butler for DEF and can sometimes win OFF quarters.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
There are 7 draftable spro players he will lose to even with 3 SR enhancements. And if many other cards use 3 SR enhancements for ATHL, he will still lose to them, as well; there too many to count.

But its about what I said in the quote to infinity. SF is my ATH position. I rarely play any position outside of SF when it comes to ATH. PG always OFF/PM SG always OFF PF/C always REB/DEF. Idk about others but I feel the other positions have more important stats to cover so I build my LU expecting to use my SF ATH vs another SF ATH. Thats why him being rank 5 ATH among SF is important to me & why I dont consider any of those other positions as viable opponents..IGN: Wade County/Heat Wave

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
The ability proc is relevant because iirc only him & Dr j actually have ATH team abilities. So anybody else procing abilities wont effect the outcome

(On the ability proc, I was speaking more if you were playing KD versus another (non-SF) player with an ATH proc in an ATH quarter.)Last edited by CedricFP; 04-21-2015, 06:42 AM.Comment
