Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
The Kobe mania reminds me of my current MyCareer in 2k15. I just brought a 2nd title to the Bucks, winning Finals MVP. After all the post-game stuff, there was an Around the World drill and it paid out VC (not sure when the drills starting paying VC ... my last two have though which is nice I guess).
Then I had a meeting with the GM and he wanted me to pick two players to go get. I wanted to get a young good SG because OJ Mayo is an overlap with Parker's skill set and otherwise brings nothing to the table ... and I wanted a good young Center because Sanders has played like 10 games in my two complete seasons so far.
So I told them to go get Demar DeRozen and Joel Embiid, and they were like "whatever it takes to keep our superstar happy" and then it simmed the offseason and I arrived at the season's screen and looked at the roster.
My PG at 96 Overall
SG - Kobe Bryant at 86 overall but 38 years old
SF - Jabari Parker, resigned and 86 overall
PF - John Henson, 75 overall (Ilyasova and Pachulia are gone, and Antetokounmpo is low rated for some reason)
C - Larry Sanders, 79 overall but injury prone
Giannis is the 6th man and rated 78 with the rest of the roster being:
Brandon Knight, PG|SG, 79 overall
Damien Inglis, SF|PF, 73 overall
Kendall Marshall, PG, 74 overall
OJ Mayo, PG|SG, 73 overall (gets scrub minutes)
Jared Dudley, SF|SG, 70 overall (Scrub minutes)
Rookie Draftee, SF|SG, 63 overall (Doesn't suit up)
John Cheaney, C, 67 overall (Doesn't suit up)
So I was like ... WTF? I went and looked and DeRozan is out playing for the Lakers now, and Embiid stayed in Philly. So far Kobe has played excellently early on, but he doesn't play a lot of minutes so I end up playing a lot with Knight and Marshall at SG. Henson is incompetent as he was the first two seasons.
So far Sanders has stayed healthy but it seems inevitible he's going to go out for the year again, leaving our team to play Heson at the Center and bring Antetokounmpo and Inglis into rotation at PF. If Parker gets hurt again, then it's going to be the "Professor" and Kobe show this season in game. {My player's nickname is "The Professor"}.
What trips me out is the broadcasters keep referring to the "big 3" that the team assembled even though we lost some of our best depth players (Ilyasova was a decent 3pt shooter and hit a high% of free throws. I could dime him in a crowded post and he would make his foul shots) and only brought in Kobe as the only new player.
Oh, and Kobe is now referred to as the team superstar and they don't talk about me anymore.
2K sports people must really dog on the Bucks ... that's a harsh outcome after repeating as champions for the specifically targeted free agents to go elsewhere, when the game is designed so that my story involves me ascending to greatness and then getting other greats to come play with me, lol.
Also, I averaged a freaking Triple Double last season with 3 of our top 4 players out for most or all of the season... why on earth would DeRozan not want to play with a PG who is dishing out 12 assists a game, pulling down more than 11 boards, creating fast break opportunities with the steal (which I almost always then flashy pass to the streaking SG for the easy break points).
I know it's an essay but for real I can't figure out what on earth with this game. I was going to play an entire career but I'm not sure I can stick with the Bucks after my contract is up if the roster keeps on being trash. It's only because of the shot meter cheese that I can keep the team winning, because I am putting out over 60% shooting on like 38-45 shots a game, on top of tons of assists, and even so it's always close. Without perfect releases, I wouldn't be able to hit any shots in the 4th quarter because of shot fatigue.
So like ... I feel like I'm cheesing the game, but it's on the highest difficulty.
One thing this year's game has done is make me follow the Bucks though, and they're a fun team to watch on league pass.
Took essay writing to a new level....

Unless you got RC Pro Blake Griffin (who routinely cracks like 9300 offense for me), keep him and pro him. Offense is not common in PO tier and he's gonna beat pretty much anything but RC Pros and POTG Pros on Offense quarters... and maybe even some of those.QG Tier: Legendary++
