Strongly disagree with that. Parker had the luxury to play with the greatest PF of all time and one of the greatest coaches of all time, thats why he has rings. Individually, he isn't anywhere near in the discussion of the greatest PGs ever.

Yes. There are so many great point guards in the NBA history, these four are always gonna be there.

I would rank tony Parker over Nash tbh... 4 rings, one fmvp gives him a huge edge over others despite not having great stat lines

You could not honestly say that Nash, had he been the same age and on those same teams, could not win those same 4 championships.

You just said it, he's not one of the greats. Achievements (titles) really only come into play when you have to decide between comparable great players. Parker isn't on the level of the great PGs based on his actual play, so the titles really don't make a difference.

This. Rings aren't a reason to rank a player. There are so many other factors that go into who gets a ring, it's ridiculous.

I personally considered Lebron a top 5 player even before the rings. People just love to hate him for some reason

And as for Bill Idk I'm too young to really appreciate what he did, especially when I look at all the HOF teammates that were on his Celtics teams.

He was a top 10 player before he won 2 rings, championships just solidified his position in the top 10. Bill Russell, from what I know, was a great, great defender (sucks blocks weren't counted back then), he also did average 20+ rebounds.

Rings are A reason. Some people just try and make it THE reason. Bill Russell was a great player in his own right and everything I've ever read or heard about him says he was an amazing leader and teammate. He was able to inspire other players and was selfless and smart enough to be a coach on the floor. He was great and made others better, which someone like Kobe could never do.

LeBron, I think, was always going to be considered a top 10 player. It was just detractors that tried to use the rings argument to devalue his greatness.

LeBron was incredible before he ever had a ring. The fact that people still point to the fact that he's only won 2 despite the teams that he's lead to the finals is ridiculous.

Russell is an all-time great with or without the rings. I think he gets a little too much credit for having so many, though.

LeBron was the victim of the expectations. that's the reason he wasn't generally considered a top 10 player. IMO he's top 5 all time.
