Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Here is my educated guess on what the RTTC will be. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this idea yet, but here goes.
Okay, the first hint was from the movie Mallrats. The film's production has multiple ties to New Jersey. This movie stars Jason Lee.
There was a second quote, one from My Name is Earl, we'll get to that later. This show also stars Jason Lee.
The last quote was from "Dogma" which was partially filmed on the Jersey Shore.
This movie also starred Jason Lee.
So, all three movies quoted star the actor Jason Lee. This all adds up to the New Jersey Nets and Jason Kidd being the selection this week for RTTC.
The Nets played in two finals during the 2000s, 2002 and 2003, against the Lakers and the Spurs, respectively. NWGamedad ruled out the Lakers on Twitter, so that leaves us with 2003, Spurs vs Nets.
Finally, someone on here mentioned that My Name is Earl (the source of the second quote) was based in a fictional Texas town. This definitely supports this year, as it could support San Antonio instead of Dallas.
Well, anyways, that's just my guess. We'll see tomorrow.
Edit: Dogma and Mallrats also are Kevin Smith films, who is from New Jersey.Last edited by BigAl42; 08-24-2015, 11:38 PM.Comment

As mentioned before, they already did a RTTC with Spurs and Nets David Robinson Greats and Jason Kidd PO.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I recall Jerry West having a regular PO card for 1962 and then a greats card for 1970 RTTC. Same thing, really.
Edit: Never mind, I see what you're saying. Didn't realize David Robinson and that RTTC was 2003.Last edited by BigAl42; 08-24-2015, 11:42 PM.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
While I'm seeing that Jason Lee is a common reference I decided to google Jason Lee basketball. What I found is that there is a high school girls basketball coach in San Francisco named Jason Lee. So...it is confirmed.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I can't see them doing RTTC for the exact same year as one from before, that is the point I was getting at. The Robinson Greats and PO Kidd were from 2003. So this would be the same year, not 2 different years.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
There realistically are only 3 possibilities, 05 Spurs vs. Pistons, 06 Heat vs. Mavs or 07 Spurs vs. Cavs. 2003 RTTC has already been done and its already been confirmed no Lakers.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Sounds about right. The fact there are no Ben Wallace nor Rip Hamilton cards suggest a no for Spurs Pistons. Duncan and James Greats are probably the best ones but they just did a Spurs RC and had a Cavs RC while there are no Heat PO card as of yet.
The past 2 RTTCs included a team that didn't have PO cards prior: Jazz and Pistons. Dirk and Wade are pretty popular as well.
Another thing is the lack of SG Greats. None was available in previous RTTCs. This would be a great time to introduce one.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
There are too many clues pointing to Jersey - Kevin Smith is a NJsian, my name is earl is based in Camden County which is in NJ.
Usually though the main clues are pointing at the winners, which the Nets are not.
Only few hours till we know for sure.Comment
