On with them…
What are LU, QG and RC?
LU = line up. It consists of the 5 cards you’ve chosen to play QG and RC and the 15 cards you use in your season mode.
QG = Quick Games, the better of 5 rounds in which you face off against another user’s quick game line up. The opponent’s deck is somewhat like yours.
RC = Rivals Clash, the event that happens every 2 weeks, from Tuesday to Sunday, in which you choose one of the 2 teams elected for the event and you’re able to get special rewards at the end (cool special events cards!).
What is rivals?
It’s Rivals Clash – see the last question above.
When are rivals teams announced?
5 days before the event starts – usually on Fridays.
Why did I get the cards of the team that won the rivals and not the losing team I chose?
Because that’s the rule: you get the cards of the winning team.
How do I train cards?
You use other cards, of course – the ones you don’t need, since they’ll disappear by being incorporated in the trainee card.
It doesn’t matter the position: you can use a power forward to train a point guard. What matters is the level of the card and its rarity: a 15 level card worth more than a 12 level card of the same rarity; an epic card gives more points towards leveling than a rare; a rare gives more points than an uncommon; an uncommon more than a common. And if you use a legendary to train other cards… you’re either insane or you are someone twisted or someone to be envied.
IMPORTANT: you ALWAYS fully train your cards before combining them together to get a pro version. If you train 2 cards to half its potentials, then your pro version will be somewhat half too when it’s fully trained.
Now imagine you finally get that second epic you wanted so badly! Now you have a fully 25 level epic and a 0 level new epic; you combine them and get your epic pro. You’re happy! Kudos for you!!! Only noooot! You just lost hundreds of stat points! You know that 680 ball control you thought was great? Well… it coulda been 874 if you'd done your homework correctly.
What is the rounding error?
People discovered that there’s a way to train a card just so that it gets a point or two in one or more stats.
Say that the maximum offense of a player is 300; with rounding error, the top stat could be 301 or 302. This is interesting if you play a QG or a RC and your opponent uses the same card as you: you’d be able to beat him by a point or 2.
The way to do it is to use maximum trained cards all at once to get a final result. But… there’s always a catch: for instance, to train an epic, you use commons and uncommons till you reach level 7 or 8; then you use 2 max rare pro. You’ll get the error. It’s something that’s about to be fixed – if it hasn’t already.
What is a 3/2 lineup and how does it work?
It works for Quick Games and Rivals Clash. You choose your best 3 cards of the same rarity (legendary, epic, rare) and 2 common cards.
As explained by MrChat138: “3/2 is 3 good cards and 2 commons; tricks the matchmaking for easier opponents. Commons, drained or not = much lower stats than good cards drained.”
And Sour syd: “3/2 is 3 best cards paired with 2 common. Commons are ur burn cards so the opponent uses its first 2 best cards. 90% chance win”.
And Benitezj10: “it lowers your 5 Starters strength and you get matched up with players you should be able to win. It's one of the most used strategies. Unless you are twista lol”.
The 2 common cards will lower your deck value overall, helping you get matched with users that have lower stats decks.
The AI uses its better cards at 1st and 3rd rounds, so people uses 2 different strategies:
a) play your better cards at 2nd, 4th and 5th rounds; or
b) play your better cards at 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds.
This way it’s easier to win, discount it’s in the overtime.
And while we’re at it, as said by SamIam13: “If you put two commons in your line-up you will get easier matchups for your QG and RC. You won't get better draft picks”.
Is there any way to get matched up better in seasons?
Not that you can do something about it, no.
The season matchmaking evaluates you by your 15 best cards overall. It doesn’t matter if you try to cheat it, like choosing 10 common cards just to replace them with rares later: it’s your whole collection that counts, not the cards you’ve chosen.
Unfortunately users get too mixed and you see lots of trucks along the way (more about trucks below). That’s why the season matchmaking is a constant complain: exactly because one can have 2000 at every stat and get matched with someone who has 4000 in each one. You’ll lose, of course, and that pretty much spoils your chances of winning the season.
How to win a season? According to Ezquerro: “Either drop money on Epic Packs, compete in Rivals, or wait until they fix matchmaking.”
What is a Truck?
Truck is the kind and warmth way we call the bastard that has way much more points than you in every stat. It’s the guy with 5000 on offense when you have 2300…
What is a bot?
It’s the AI that participates in the season mode, the teams not human controlled. Usually (not always) they have a single user name, they are trucks and they’re almost always fully energized. They’ll beat you and steal your rewards.
Note: Twista, Xim0 and Sour syd aren’t bots. They’re just… in a league of their own.
How do I get better cards?
With money and/or patience and/or resistence.
You either:
a) buy epic cards and hope to get good cards – twice, so you can make them pro; or
b) you play tons of QG and RC, hoping to get a good card as a reward; or
c) you grind your fingers to the bone for 5 days during Rivals to earn the great rewards.
What is grinding / grind time?
To grind is to give up your life, your time, your family, your friends, everything… in the name of your hopes and dreams to get a nice card for your deck!
During Rivals Clash, the better you position yourself, the better the rewards. So… it’s everyone against everyone: the more you play, the more you win; the more you win; the more points you make. The more points… the better rewards.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/grind
1. to reduce or be reduced to small particles by pounding or abrading
7. (foll by: out) to produce in a routine or uninspired manner
8. (foll by: out) to continue to play in a dull or insipid manner
Make no mistake: to be top 250, you have to play hours a day. HOURS!, not minutes. To be top 50… we’re talking 6, 8, 10 hours a day. People gets fired, their marriage dissolute, their children stops recognizing them… they forget to eat, to bath, to sleep… almost to breathe!
The game’s played mechanically. Us regular people, we make 1000 points in an hour and a half – there are, however, those who can achieve a thousand in 50 or 60 minutes…
What is tanking? Why do people tank? How do I do that?
Tanking is abandoning the season mode in an attempt to get epic cards. Therefore one can only tank during the season mode.
Say you found out that you’re not gonna win the season – because there’s way too many trucks or too many bots or you’ll sleep during the playoffs and won’t be able to reenergize or whatever… so you bail out early.
You get to the playoffs and lose in the first round or in the 2nd – you sink, you… tank!
The season rewards for those who lose in the 1st round are 2 team pack cards and 2 draft picks. The 2 team packs cards are the same; therefore if you get an epic, you’ll be able to make it pro. Hence is extremely valid to tank in the first round.
Some people say that they get a single epic card when they tank in the 2nd round. This is not a rule, but happens often to some lucky ones. Maybe it’s your case. Give it a try and share your experience with us!
Do I have a better chance of getting an epic from team pack from a team with 1 epic than a team with 6 epics?
Check out ActionJack post right below this one.
What are the odds of getting an epic or legendary?
No one except CD knows and they’re not inclined to let us know. All it’s known is that it’s a fixed rate. A very low fixed rate, for all we experience.
NWGameDad explains: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...p?p=2045988736
If you’re talking about the odds from the epic pack available for you to buy, then it’s a 100% chance of either en epic or a legendary. It’s harder to get the yellow golden one, but still there’s chance. No one knows the rates, it wasn’t disclosed.
Aristocrat, for example, holds what he calls the “involuntary record: 34 epics in a row”.
Why did I lose if my team has better stats?
For a number of reasons that includes your support cards, the stats of your first and second LU and the very unknown reason no one was ever able to find out.

How do you hoard Draft Picks?
As answered by Twista209: “First, just close the app and restart which takes forever. Second, when you get to the draft screen you click on the buy more draft picks, (does not work if you already have credits) it will ask you if you are sure you want to buy and you click the yes button which then takes you to the purchase screen then you simply back out and go back into quick games.”
