Action Jack - Thank you for a good analysis.


The rewards are a big part of the problem and with the v1.18 update we are changing the rewards to the following:


Finals Champion - 1 Legendary
Finals 2nd Place - 1 Epic Pro
3rd Round Playoffs - 1 Epic
2nd Round Playoffs - 1 Rare Pro
1st Round of Playoffs - 1 Rare
No Playoffs - 1 Uncommon Pro


I'm sure you'll ask, "Wait, an Epic Pro has better stats then a Legendary, that isn't fair!" That is true, but if you Pro up the Legendary it will have much better stats than the Epic Pro (in most cases, yes, I know about Yao and Mullins. Larry Johnson is just a really good Epic Pro). So in the short run if you "tank" for 2nd place you'll improve your deck but if you go for the winning spot each time you'll end up having a better deck in the long run.


v1.18 is very close now, but I do not have a specific day when it will be released.

Quick question: whenever the update hits, will the new rewards be given to seasons already underway, or will they take effect whenever new seasons are started under the new system?

I ask this because I'm planning on tanking my current season...

The card limit will be raised to 120 with the new update.

We're not changing the rewards in Quick Games. You will still get 1 or 2 Draft Picks depending on if you win or lose.

Good question, I'm fairly certain any Seasons started under the "old" rewards will still play out with those rewards. Any Seasons started after the update comes out will then have the new rewards. I'll have to check with our server guy to be 100% sure.

I'm not trying to be coy, I just can't say for sure. A part of the process of releasing mobile titles is that the different platform owners (i.e. Apple, Google, Amazon) all have their own review process for releases and updates. That process can take weeks, days, or hours. It just depends on their load, how much changes in the app, etc. Since we support all 3 platforms we have to coordinate it so that one client doesn't become available before the other platforms and it is in sync with our server version. It's a tricky balance of timing that we don't have a ton of control over once we're waiting on those approvals from the platforms.


With that said, I will let you know as soon as I have something solid in terms of timing.

120 doesn't help a whole lot for the players that are holding 70-some cards for catalogue purposes, but I'll take it over 100.

If the reward has been improved, then the matchmaking in season must be totally legitemate, for example I average 2000+ stats in all category then all of my enemies must be also averaged 2000+ stats too, not 3000+ or more. Hope this kind of very disappointing situation must be totally fixed in next updates. Take my picture for example.

Yeah there is no other team in that season above 3900 (and only one team there... he's 3500-3900, a few teams hovering 3k and majority in the 2.5-2.8k range... at least if your screenshot is recent, don't remember if you're in my season but i'm in a season with him and he's undefeated so far, i even subbed out my 5 best players to rest in the game against him) so its just a few teams like that every season. My guess is once you reach a certain point, you just get put into 1 tier with all teams above that point instead of being matched with competitive team. This is probably done so the 4000+ teams (probably not too many, i'm guessing in the 100s) wouldn't have to queue for a long time to get a season nor always face the same teams.

With the new reward systems, there should be more 4k+ line-up so maybe more tiers can be added.

I'm in the season with you, #2/3 seed right now (tied). Funny how the last 2 time i faced him he dropped down to 3000 range (but i used a team - my 5 best cards... i'm taking the 4 games vs him as rest games for my best players, same with games vs Alex since his line-up is out of energy/sub 1000 the last 2 times i faced him)... I bet the guy i'm tied with (Kwanger) could beat him if he fully rest for the game against him (he has a 3500-3900 max line-up i believe). Maybe he doesn't rest until its over and Kwanger will end up winning the season instead.

You still have a chance to beat Kwanger, like you said by making your best 5 cards in a starting line-up, there are still percentage that you can beat him. I'm rooting for you tho. Goodluck!
