    Season Matchup Explanation

So, just curious if someone can explain this to me...

I'm in Game 7 of a Quarterfinal matchup (I was 8 seed against 1 seed), I set my lineup to be maximized for 1 game as I had been able to get to game 7 by using this strategy, and when the matchup is over, I lost by 4 points. I go into the playoffs bracket and see why I lost, and lo and behold, it's because my BEST PLAYER, a Legendary Dominique wasn't played.

8 cards played, and the AI decided that 1 of the 2 cards in my lineup that wouldn't get played was my fully rested Legendary SF, who has higher ratings in every category than any other card on my team. Had he been played in ANY of the matchups, I would have won, but nope, give the 1 seed the best possible advantage.

So my question is, are the cards used in season matchups just completely randomly selected? If so, that's pretty messed up.

    Is your Dominique a starter?
If he was a starting and he wasn't played, that is kind of messed up. But if he was benched then it could possibly happen.
From my experience all starters are played and then 3 out of 5 bench selected randomly (?)

It doesn't matter starter or bench. 8 random cards gets picked.

Based on my experience, the algorithm will pick 1 of the top X (i believe its 8 so i don't have the stats to be sure) card for a category. With #1 having a higher % than 2 and 2 higher than 3... etc. (weighted percentages, its fairly common and easy to code and generates a good illusion of "randomness")

So a good deal of time you'll pick the 2 best cards for the category but NOT ALWAYS and sometime the card choice would make 0 sense at all. Also i tried 1 season with "common bench" and had common play some regular season games (just to test) and sometime they were played in Q2, Q3, and Q4 (never Q1, reason for my theory of top 8). RC Birds had games that they did not play at all (despite the fact my 3rd best card is an Epic Pro and my 7-10th best were a UR Pro).

Of course majority of the time (due to the algorithm), the best card(s) would be chosen... at least a good deal more often than the worst card.

Yep, starting SF. That's why I got so mad.
