I'm currently shooting for the Epic Pro David Lee, but even if and when I get him and he becomes the best card in my deck, I'll only ever look at him and think, "you're just not Taj"!
In all seriousness, it's not the first time that I've been on the losing side in Rivals Clash, and every time it happens it bothers me that for all the time and effort I spend on the event, I end up with cards that I don't want or at least weren't my preference.
I know it's been asked before, but seriously now... why can't we just all take away prizes from the side we've actually picked?
I appreciate that if everyone just gets what they want irrespective of who wins, there's not really much point in keeping score, at which point it's not much of a 'clash'.
But could there not be another incentive given to be part of the winning team?
Why not give the winners something extra on top of the player cards, like credits based on your ranking, some enhancements, supports or rookie cards? The losers on the other hand just get the player card(s) for their ranking tier.
Look, we all know who's going to win after about 2 hours of the event starting anyway. It's hardly 'intense competition'. How many players potentially get put off as soon as they realise their side is destined to lose?
I almost gave up on the event completely yesterday because I'm flat out not interested in the Warriors cards. They're not cool to me. I don't care about David Lee in the slightest. I'd almost rather have the UR Swaggy P.
I'd have been playing a lot harder if I knew that my reward was going to be Gibson, or even Butler, who I'd have chased if Bulls were on course to win.
I'm not trying to moan because I love the game but I just think that when it comes to RC, it might raise the overall interest in the event if the outcome for each individual wasn't decided by the masses.
