We’re pretty stoked about the upcoming Playoff Update to myNBA2K15. On top of adding a bunch of killer cards into the mix, it’ll usher in a new player experience that’ll make it easier to connect with your friends, collect more cards, and catch the latest game news. We’ll give you more details on the update as a whole later because today we want to really dive in and chat with you about the new Season rewards we’re introducing in the Playoff Update.
Let’s get to it, then.
Most notably, we’ve created a “Playoff tier.” The rewards break down like this: first and 2nd place contenders will each win a Playoff card + credits. Third and 2<sup>nd</sup> round contenders will both earn HOF cards, with the former receiving credits. First round Playoff contenders get a MVP card. MVPs, by the way, will be available to auction.
Season rewards for Star tier are not changing. We’ve made this decision because we think it’s the most effective way to propel players out of Star seasons and into the new tier. This tier in particular currently has a LOT of incredible decks in it, so a new Playoff tier should thin it out and help both fringe-level players and Star+ players. Other tiers will not change, either.
