    Re: Draft Board Patterns?

I am 100% sure that it's all random.
Many people will tell you that pattern X works for them and will swore by it that it increase chances of getting more board cleared.
Some people will tell you that this is not working for them.
Even for random, going with the same pattern over just clicking on whatever (which is how I roll) might seem better at times and can lead to believe that there is a pattern, but since multiple users using patterns all use different patterns with differential level of success, points me to the randomness of things.
I do like that everyone plays this game differently and uses what strategy he thinks works better for him (or her - not that there anything wrong with that )

Current status on board clears... Only thing that sticks out is that it's never the same row unless the pull is higher than a rare.

This table assumes cards are laid out like an excel (rows go downward, columns left and right). Left means cards left on the board when reset.

      Row Column Left Rarity
      2 3 2 R
      5 4 6 R
      1 2 18 R
      3 4 8 R
      2 2 18 R
      1 2 23 S
      3 1 5 R
      4 4 8 S
      2 1 14 SR
      5 3 22 R
      4 1 9 R
      2 4 6 R
      4 4 3 R
      5 3 12 R
      1 5 20 E
      1 1 20 R
      5 4 15 R
      3 2 23 R
      5 1 9 R
      3 1 9 S
      2 5 20 R
      3 5 12 R
      2 1 4 R
      4 3 22 SR
      4 5 0 R
      5 5 15 E

its generally known that the average games per board clear is about 7. thats why alot of people just divide the number of games played since their last reset by 7 to get a rough estimate on how many boards have been cleared.

if im not mistaken, Smartforce did a detailed statistical analysis on board drafting a couple of months ago and came to the conclusion that there really is no pattern, and that it is completely random.

that being said... we all have our own patterns and biases that we do to clear those boards.

It's ~6.8 games per clear for me based on my win/loss ratio. That's an easy calculation...
          (25/((win%*2)+(loss%*1)))/2

However, after tracking for a bit I think there are some patterns, we just need a larger sample size.

Also, if Apos actually gets a reset after 7 cards (like he said in another thread) he is definitely beating the system...

Is it random that I have to draft almost every card on the entire board every single time before I get a reset? lolz. I'm in playoff tier and often don't get a reset until the last damn card! I hate it.

After tracking the location on ~40 resets I've only pulled two in a row from the same row 2x and both were higher tiered pulls the 1st time (must reset the location?)

so don't pull from the row you just reset on
