They extended it by starting the event on Wednesday instead of Friday.

If I'm not mistaken, next one will start a few hours earlier (and significantly less abruptly).

Also next/future RTTC's will start on Wednesday 3 AM Est, and 12 AM PST so it doesn't start at 6pm anymore. I'm pretty sure

U should start using restrooms for play!

The biggest issue is actually sleep - during the office I can easily grind. If your deck is strong enough, you don't have to mind which cards you play.
But I want my regular sleep schedule, therefore I won't get those last cards. But that don't matter.

We should all know by now that this game takes some serious dedication. That can be time, money or both.
