multiple account have been banned after server maintenance. I suspect there is a bug on the game where a couple dozen or so of us tried to log in too many times.

The bug blocks our account because it registers us as an incorrect login or login info. I know that my account was banned when I tried to log in maybe one (or 15) too many times.

I looked up an old support issue on mynba2k, however the webpage was created two years ago so its old software support. but they might have something in the game that flags your account when you try to unsuccessfully attempt to log in too many times after server maintenance.

Of course you wouldn't know when the servers come back on so this could happen to anyone. also if you are in a season or playoffs you probably want to log back on to energize your players.

so far banned after server maintenance are: me, bilo, MrDavidson, asdfc48, etched Chaos, zeglove20, Kirsome, sickmind, also another user tweeted nwgamedad and reported the same thing happening to her https://twitter.com/NWGameDad/status/667092472296665088

So that makes 9 of us banned probably many more. I hope we are not missing out on RC tomorrow for a bug that locks out our accounts.

To be honest, it seems like if this ban was based on a repeatable action (such as trying to log in too many times during maintenance), then a lot more people would have been banned...

I hope if you guys were incorrectly banned, they sort it out for you pronto.

It is not a bug, and it had nothing to do with maintenance. See my post about Accounts being locked.

Welp, guys, since you've all been banned and it looks like NWGD is positive it was legit bans, why don't you come clean and say what you were doing?

NWGD, are false positives possible with your anti-cheat?

I've been reading on twitter about players claiming to play QGs in 16 seconds, and from what the guys tell me, that's simply not possible. My best guess is speed-hacks.

Welp, guys, since you've all been banned and it looks like NWGD is positive it was legit bans, why don't you come clean and say what you were doing?

I did nothing wrong and they banned me.There is nothing to come clean for me. Now i'm very curious about their response and their compensation offer for the inconvenience.

Compensation offer lol you should be grateful if you even end up getting unbanned they could easily just ignore the complaints and say they have evidence which they won't disclose.

Grateful? Banning without explanation? They can do it, that's right. That would be a great way to lose customers.If they don't need users, fine. But i don't believe it.

Grateful in a sense that they could easily say they have evidence but won't disclose what it is. Also from what GameDad says there is probably a good reason.

update: I just a very friendly email from Lance F. and so we will see what happens from there. It was so nice to get a positive response from a CD employee. I was honestly very pleasantly surprised, and I appreciated being treated like a human.

I'm glad they are doing something about the cheaters. It's depressing when I was playing RC for about 6 hours straight +5 games all the way non stop.

I look at the rankings and the top players have 5 x the amount of points I have... even if I used Hot streak the whole way I still wouldn't have half the points... just doesn't make sense.

I'm about 99% positive that your friendly email was not from CD. Check it again. I'm guessing it was 2k.
