What rate do wild cards drop at?
The dilemma:
Some people have a much more difficult time pulling wild cards now than they did when they began playing this game. Additionally, some people still report an easy time with pulling wild cards.
The theory:
Is the Wild Card algorithm based on tier? It's entirely probable. This would put the wild card on an equal footing with other cards you're currently shooting for and would explain why everyone pulled more when they started than they are now. This would also mean that CD wasn't lying when they said that the drop rates haven't been altered.
The test:
If we can gather enough sample data, we might be able to figure this one out or at least rule it out.
Please post your general drop rate now, along with your current QG tier, like so:
Tier: Legendary++
Average cost for a Wild Card: 53.3k
Average cost for wild card would count how many wild cards you have gained from the beginning of your tracking period divided into rp spent on packs that had the possibility of yielding a wild card. If you spend money on credits, then convert those to rp according to the current exchange rate offered by CD.
Example: I have spent 150k RP on Extras packs. I also purchased one TBT pack for 1k credits, which converts to 10k RP. In those packs, I pulled two Wild Cards. I also pulled a Wild Card from the draft board during that period. So, 160k RP / 3 = ~53.3k.
Additional Test:
If someone on Legendary tier gets their reset, then is willing to bounce back to rare tier for a little bit, they can test if their pulls go up during that time. This might not change the WC drop rate, as drop rates might be reduced permanently once you hit a higher tier. If that's the case, then it wouldn't give us much information. However, if it does change the drop rate for a number of us, this would pretty much confirm the theory.
Alternative method:
CD could just tell us.
