    Review this year's game

I am a veteran of the 2K14 and 2K15 MyTeamMobile games who decided to call it quits this year.

I was shamelessly addicted to the game for two years but I became too discouraged with the endless grind for minimal reward, and found the game had become disruptive to my social life.

I would be losing sleep to seasons or constantly on my phone at weekends playing events when I should have been out having fun, or at least doing something a little more productive or relaxing at home. I'm sure anyone reading this has been there!

Up until now I have resisted all temptation to even download the new app, as I fear I could easily relapse! However I can't deny I have some curiosity as to how this year's edition is playing.

So I invite you all to sum up your experience with 2K16 so far. Are you enjoying it? Is it much improved? Is it better than last year, and if so in what ways?

To sum it up (in my opinion):

Ultimately, it's more of the same: tap tap tap.

But the little changes, like the spec system, 4 stats instead of 5, even dual-card quarters in quick games, have helped the game remain fresh and somewhat interesting.

RTTC this year feels 'grindier' than last year, and RC rewards for placing very high are lackluster.

Am I enjoying it? I don't know, to be perfectly honest. But I do continue to play it, so there's obviously something there.

But when I realized the other day that I've played twice as many quick games as days I've been alive, I lost a little something.

So, to conclude, it's fun in short bursts, oddly addicting, but not particularly rewarding. Same deal as 2k15, and I'm assuming same deal as 2k14.*

More of the same: tap tap tap.

*As with these types of games, the reward is in the community. Be it on here, the other forum folks, the FB groups, or the infamous TEAM LINE, the fact that communities form shows that this game brings people together.

In the big picture, that to me is a net positive.

That sums it up quite nicely.

I still think - as I have said numerous times - that the Auction House did the game no good. 2K15 started with the Auction House right from the start and that propelled progress enormously. After like two weeks I reached the highest tier, and since then my motivation rapidly dwindled. Which is by no means a bad thing, because deep down in my heart I know I'm wasting my time. In a stupid, no fun way.

So, GlenPh, it's clearly not better than last year. Keep resisting, you would regret returning to your former habits.

Thanks for your input guys, some really interesting comments.

I do sometimes miss the buzz of a great pull from the draft board, and as a relatively new NBA fan the game really helped my knowledge of players past and present.

But from the outside looking in I think you're right, not enough has changed for me to consider jumping back in.
